Hoop Dreams: What if Lawrence Township had only one school! “OMG”

LAWRENCE — In the state of Indiana high school basketball is king. If that’s the case then Lawrence Township is the Royal Palace! It’s hard enough to compete out here in these hoop streets let alone be the best to do it. Lawrence has two high schools; Lawrence Central and Lawrence North and they’re the two best teams in the state. Can you imagine them having only one high school in Township? OMG!!!!

North is the No.1 team in the state with a record of 19-1 as they’ve been blasting everybody on their schedule this year. Sure, they got caught sleepin’ over at North Central (9-9) earlier this season but that was a simple slip up that surely won’t happen again.

Then there’s Central who’s 20-2 and those two losses came to guess who playa? Lawrence North in some battles! Between the two schools they’ve got studs bursting out of the seams. Again, can you imagine if they had one school in Lawrence Township? It would be NUTS!!!

If you think Carmel has been dominant in sports? Lawrence Township would be destroying the game especially on the hardwood. I know that it’s barber shop talk of the “what ifs” but I can dream for a minute right?

Think about it playa, North walks in the door with Iowa signee shooting guard Tony Perkins at 6’4″. Then getting off of the bus bumpin’ that DJ Khalid “All I Do Is Win” joint is junior forward at 6’7″ DJ Hughes.

Central steps in the building with Louisville signee Dre Davis at 6’6″ along with Kansas State signee point guard Nijel Pack!!!! Then Dre’s younger brother D’Ante at 6″6″ who’s only a sophomore is killin’ the game. Don’t sleep on the three-point sniper Jasen Graves too. Both teams have crazy benches right now with athletes and shooters out the trunk.

They’ve both got players that could start at any other school in the city coming off of the bench bruh!!! It’s insane!!!!

It would be incredible to watch and I hate that we’ll never see it. As good as both teams are we won’t even get to see them both past the darn sectional. They’ve got to play each other to advance to the regional and that’s ridiculous. The two best teams in the state and they’re in the same sectional. I’m sick about it too.

I was having hoop dreams this morning about how good it would be. Now it’s time to wake up and get to work. Salute to Lawrence Township and all of the wonderful people that make that engine purr over there. Stop me when I start lyin’!
