Golden State survives despite Kevin Durant going down with an Achilles injury! “Too Real”

Steph Curry doing work as Warriors survives.

Gever Tulley once said, “Persistence and resilience only come from having been given the chance to work though difficult problems.” James Cascio broke it down like this, “Resilience is all about being able to overcome the unexpected. Sustainability is about survival. The goal of resilience is to thrive.” Then Phil Klay poured out a lil’ liquor  when he spit, Resilience is, of course, necessary for a warrior. But a lack of empathy isn’t.”

Well playas…the Golden State Warriors showed boyz what champions are made of as they walked out of Scotiabank Arena with a 106-105 victory to extend the series to a Game 6 in Oakland on Thursday. What did ole boy say, “Resilience is, of course, necessary for a warrior.”

Kevin Durant tried to be an immortal by bringing his butt out there knowing that he was in no condition to run with the big dawgs. All you heard all afternoon was that KD was not only going to play but he was going to start. I told the big homie Gerry V on ESPN’s 730TheGame in Charlotte that KD would start the game and that would be about it.

He sure wasn’t going to finish it. Sure enough he went down like Frazier early in first half grabbing not his calf but his Achilles. Now they can keep telling boyz all of the foolishness that they want but the dun isn’t going to play for a long time after seeing the slow motion on the injury. Something snapped and it’s serious business.

According to Warriors general manager, Bob Myers, during the post game “It’s an Achilles injury.” We didn’t need him to tell us that though playa. Anybody with two eyes could see that. He was grabbing the back of his foot well before it snapped. They were icing the lower leg minutes before he went back out there.

Meanwhile the Splash Brothers went to work scoring a combined 57 points. Steph popped off 31 and Klay gave them the business with 26. Boogie Cousins struggled from time to time during this one but he still managed to drop off 14. Durant only played 12 minutes and finished with 11 points.

Kawhi Leonard led the Raptors with 26 scoring 10 straight down the stretch to put Toronto in a position to win it. Kyle Lowry dropped 18 as Marc Gasol finished with 17.

Now it all shifts back to the Bay Area for Game 6 with Toronto up 3-2. Even though it’s still an elimination game, the momentum just swung in Golden State’s favor. We’ll see what happens on Thursday. Stop me when I start lyin’!
