ESPN hyped LaVar Ball up just like LeBron and bailed when it went bad for THEM. “Par for the Course”

Y’all know how I do it. I typically sit in the cut and wait for all of the talking heads to overreact about something because most people that overreact don’t think first. Everybody and their baby’s momma has had a strong opinion of how ESPN handled the whole LaVar Ball/Molly Qerim situation.

If you missed it. LaVar was on First Take last week and Molly said “I want to switch gears” meaning that she wanted to change topics. LaVar responded by simply saying that “you can switch gears with me any time.” Molly took it as ole boy making a sexual reference and she immediately got offended.

Shortly after the show was over ESPN issued a statement saying that LaVar would no longer be on the show. In other words, they were banning him from the network. That’s when the foolishness hit the fan. Boyz started jumping out of the birthday cake butt naked foamin’ at the mouth taking sides.

Most cats, male and female, didn’t think that LaVar was being an idiot making a sexual situation out of it as they were saying that Molly overreacted. Then there were those that thought that LaVar was being the idiot that he typically is and was being inappropriate.

Molly’s husband, Jalen Rose, even felt like he needed to put a Youtube video out to let boyz know that he supports how his wife feels and anybody whose been married for more than three days completely understands why he would need to do that. You’ve got to ride or die with the Mrs. Quite frankly, what he had to say made sense. Check out the video:

However, all foolishness set aside let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! I think that she overreacted because it was LaVar Ball. He’s the idiot that 9 out of 10 times is talking crazy because he’s been given an audience that he shouldn’t have been in front of in the first place.

For ESPN to get upset enough with him by issuing a statement saying that he will no longer be on TV is crazy. He shouldn’t have been on TV in the first place. He’s been talking crazy and should have been banned two years ago for being a fool on TV the first time they hollered at him.

However, ESPN did what it always does. They set a boy up, hyped him up because they were able to make money off of him and then when it backfired they ran the other way. No different than the LeBron “Decision.”  Some fool thought that it was a great idea to put together a two hour production on live TV after hyping up this man’s impending free agency for darn near a year.

So at that point they had the mob ready for a riot without once thinking that this could go bad if LeBron decides to “Take his talents to South Beach.” So when he did take them to South Beach they bailed on him and left him hanging out in the street and took the fans side. They even backed the bus over Jim Grey, who was the host of the stupid show. We haven’t seen that dun on TV since.

This is par for the course for ESPN though. You can’t throw rocks at the neighbor’s dog chained up outside in the back and get mad when he finally breaks the chain and bites you. Remember the Tom and Jerry episode back in the day when Tom kept walking out to the dog who was chained up behind a line and slapping him? Finally, the dog got tired of being slapped and he erased the line and moved it closer to him. When Tom slapped him again he pounced on him.

That’s what happened to ESPN with LaVar. Regardless of whether ole boy meant to be an idiot with Molly or not. At some point they were going to get burned fooling around with him. Like the homie Ice Cube said, “If you play with a puppy long enough he’s going to either lick you in the mouth or bite your lip.” Either way you’re going to be pissed. Stop me when I start lyin’!
