Gilbert Arenas calls Pippen and Rodman out for saying they could shut down today’s players! “Talking Crazy”

Finally!!!! Someone has the guts to say what I’ve been saying for years. These old school hoopers have been talking crazy about these young boyz not being able to hoop at the same level as they did 20 or 30 years ago and it’s ridiculous. Gilbert Arenas and Lou Williams were recently on “The No Chill Podcast” calling both Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman out for saying that they could defend anybody in today’s game.

Ole boy reminded Pippen that 6’7″ 210 pounds is a little guard in today’s game bruh! Boyz are bigger, stronger and faster than they’ve ever been. I don’t know why these old heads can’t understand that. I’m as old as Pippen and Jordan and it’s as plain as day to me because I’ve seen both eras with my own two eyes.

Lou Williams said that if LeBron were playing in 1975 he would win like 50 championships in a row. Why? Because we’ve never seen a player with the skill set that he has. He can do EVERYTHING on the floor; score, rebound, assist, block and steal at a high level and he plays EVERY position on the floor.

What these old heads don’t understand is that players today are far more skilled at playing the complete game than they’ve ever been. Back in the day a big was simply a big. Cats like Pat Ewing etc. could only play in the paint with their backs to the basket. They couldn’t shoot, dribble or run the floor with the ball in their hands at 7 feet tall.

Now you’ve got cats like Kevin Durant that can do it all anywhere on the floor. So you’re telling me that Scottie Pippen at 6’7″ could shut down KD? You sound like a mad man if you think that these new boyz wouldn’t run circles around those old heads.

Will somebody please tell me how Dennis Rodman would even make a roster right now not being able to even dribble a basketball or attempt a jump shot? I’m listenin’!!! He was unbelievable at rebounding and playing defense but this is an entirely different game that’s being played today. You’ve got 7 footers handling the rock and taking boyz coast to coast now.

We’ve never seen shooters like we’re watching now. Steph Curry, James Harden, Klay Thompson etc. would have there way in the 90’s shooting the rock. And please don’t tell me about how tough guys were back then and how these new boyz are soft because the NBA allowed people to fight and clothesline folks with no consequence. You could literally get into a fight in the NBA and not get ejected or lose game checks back then.

They literally were giving players permission to fight. You can’t do that now.

Arenas even called out the nonsense of the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons in the ’80’s. They weren’t playing defense on Jordan they were hacking the crap out of him and clotheslining him. In the words of Gilbert, “You couldn’t stop Jordan so you just clotheslined the m**********r. That’s all you did.”

That’s not defense that’s a darn street fight that you can’t do in today’s game.

There are legends of the game that wouldn’t even be basketball players today. As great as Charles Barkley was in his day he wouldn’t even be in the NBA right now. He’d be an offensive tackle or defensive end in the NFL. The dun came out of Auburn at 6’4″ 295 pounds. There is no position on the floor for him. He’s too short to play the 3 or 4 because who on earth is he going to guard. He’s too big from a weight stand point to play guard because boyz would run circles around him. I know you think that that’s blasphemy but it’s the truth. What position would he play today. There isn’t a place on the floor for him.

So I’m glad that somebody is starting to call these cats out for the foolishness that keeps jumping out of their mouths. That’s like trying to tell me that Jim Brown was the greatest running back of all time. He was playing in the late 1950’s to mid ’60’s at 6’3″ 230 pounds running over defensive backs that were 5’9″ 165 pounds. He wasn’t showing up in the secondary against the Ronnie Lott’s, Deion Sanders or Shawn Taylor’s of the world. Those cats could run like gazelles. He was running over lilliputians his entire career. Stop it.

That’s like Wilt Chamberlain scoring the 100 points against the dull Knicks in 1962. Ole boy was 7 feet tall parked in the paint all night against a sub .500 team that only had three guys on the roster that were taller than 6’5″. He was supposed to score 100 points. Kobe putting up the 81 against the Raptors in 2006 was far more impressive.

Thanks Gilbert and Lou for speaking the truth and stop me when I start lyin’!
