PORTLAND — The Trailblazers jumped out of the ride in a “Po Pimp” Do or Die situation on Thursday night. It was either win or go fishing. Well playas…it was Dame time and…CJ time. The Portland backcourt jumped out of the Big Body Chevy and gave the Denver Nuggets the business finishing with a combined 62 points as they led their team to a 119-108 win to tie the series 3-3.
Damian Lillard was on fire finishing with 32 points as his sidekick, CJ McCollum, dropped off 30 on his way to Big Momma’s house. It was NUTS the way they were dropping ‘um off. Lillard was 11 of 23 from the field and 6 of 13 from behind the arc. Not only was he shooting 46 percent from three but the dun was shooting them 4 and 5 feet from behind the darn arc. It was crazy the amount of confidence he was shooting the ball with.
Rodney Hood came off of the bench shooting that thang too as he finished with 25 points. Zach Collins wasn’t playing coming off of the bench either as he dropped a smooth 17.
All five of the Denver starters finished in double figures but their bench was nonexistent only giving them 13 total points. You can’t win in the playoffs without getting any help from the bench. Not in this league you can’t. Now series heads back to Denver for Game 7. It should be good and in my Terrell Owens voice, “Get Ya Popcorn Ready.”
