Carmel’s win over Louisville Trinity takes Indiana high school football to another level! “Look Out Playas”

M.I.C., USA — When the topic of high school football comes up boyz around the country only want to holler five states; Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, California and Texas. Now on some real talk, they produce the most D1 players and pros. California leads the way for the most Hall of Famers followed by Pennsylvania, Ohio and Texas.

That’s all good and I respect that. However, they’re playin’ ball in other states all over this country too and Indiana is one of them. The Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference better known as the M.I.C. is one of the best conferences in America every year. It ranks among the Top 15 conferences in the country most years. So please don’t act like they’re only shootin’ hoop in Indiana.

And oh yes playboy, we OWN that!!! Check the NBA right now for the amount of cats runnin’ up and down the floors that are from Indiana if you don’t believe me. Off the top of my head there’s James Blackmon Jr., Mike Conley Jr., Yogi Ferrell, Eric Gordon, Gary Harris, Gordon Hayward, George Hill, Courtney Lee, Trey Lyles, Josh McRoberts, E’Twaun Moore, Mason and Marshall Plume, Zach Randolph, Glenn Robinson III, Caleb Swanigan, Jeff Teague, RJ Hunter and Cody and Tyler Zoeller. Again, that’s of the top of my head so I know I missed some cats.

But my point here is that we’ve got ball playas in Indiana and it’s not just limited to the round ball. The M.I.C. is makin’ noise and I’ve got to give it up to Carmel for puttin’ that thang on Louisville Trinity last week as they rolled in to town as the No.1 team in Kentucky. In the finals seconds of the ball game the Greyhounds found the intestinal fortitude to overcome the deficit and win the game.

They not only won the game but they put the entire state of Indiana on their backs to give it the respect that it deserves. Coach John Hebert and Co. gave the Hoosier state a boost of confidence to go even further with this football thing.

Now it’s Warren Central’s turn this Friday to take it to an even higher level. They’ve got Trinity in Louisville on national television on ESPNU. You already know they’re goin’ to show up lookin’ like a million bucks because that’s just what they do over at Dub C. Last week at Center Grove they got off of the bus lookin’ like a D1 program and the uniforms were straight funky!!!! I can’t wait to see what they show up in for a national television audience. Not to mention all of the playmakers they’ve got.

The Incomparable David Bell is the headliner and then there’s Romeir Elliott turnin’ the joint on it’s ear along with the rest of the Warriors from the FAR EAST SIDE! They’re loaded!!! I’d love to see them go down there and beat these boyz on their home field. INDIANA STAND UP!!! We’re in the buildin’ and it’s time for boyz around this country to, in my Birdman voice, “Put some respeck on our name!”

On some real talk the IHSAA needs to stop trippin’ and let our teams travel across the country to play the best of the best and get rid of that old 300 miles from the boarder foolishness. Indiana teams can’t go to Florida, Texas Pennsylvania or California to play. That’s hurts the best teams. Wouldn’t you have loved to see the 2017 Ben Davis team play the best teams in America last year? Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”

The caption under the photo isn’t real but its real talk!
