After a great Week 1 the M.I.C. has the potential to be even BETTER than it already is! “Bottoms Up”

THE M.I.C., USA — Now that Week 1 is in the books and everyone is on full tilt football season. I’ve got a legitimate question to ask. Can the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference better known as the M.I.C. get any better than it already is. It’s been, by far, the best conference in the state for years and things are lookin’ up.

After Friday night’s results it has the potential to become even better. The standard is judged by how good the bottom of the conference is not the Top. We already know that duns like Ben Davis, Warren Central, Carmel and Center Grove are goin’ to be good year in and year out. Lawrence Central is always on the fence.

However, when teams like Pike, North Central and Lawrence North start puttin’ up crazy numbers it takes things to a completely different level. On Friday night all three of them started their seasons off 1-0 with huge wins!!!

Pike showed a ton of resilience and moxie beatin’ Zionsville comin’ out of the gate 27-19 with a team full of youngsters and experienced players after losin’ 34 seniors last year. They were 0-10 just two seasons ago and last year made it to the sectional championship game before losin’ to Fishers. They ended the 2017 campaign 6-4. Now they’ve started the season with a boost of confidence to be 1-0.

North Central went through several seasons with goose eggs on there record before hirin’ Kevin O’Shea from Lafayette Central Catholic after he’d won 5 Class A state titles in 9 years and amassin’ a 114-10 record. His Panthers went 3-7 in his first year and on Friday they put that thang on Fishers 31-7.

Then Lawrence North completely shredded Perry Meridian 64-7. Yeah, I know that it was Perry Meridian but 64 points is a gang of points for anybody to put up. Keep in mind that LN was one of the teams at the bottom of the conference last year. Now they’ve got crazy confidence after a huge Week 1 blowout. That makes the conference even stronger goin’ into Week 2.

Bruh…Warren Central played like the No.1 team in the state beatin’ No.6 Center Grove on their own field 27-15 and Ben Davis was, well Ben Davis, in a 51-6 route of Tech. Again, I know it was just Tech but they did what they were supposed to do in that situation. They’ve got a real test next week as they travel over to Avon to visit the Orioles and they are LOADED.

My point here is this, if the bottom half of the conference starts holdin’ it’s own out here it’s really goin’ to be  problem in these football streets. The M.I.C. already runs it like Nino Brown and the CMB but what happens when duns like Pike, North Central and Lawrence North consistently start takin’ boy’z sneakers and jewelry out here? Watch out playa and that could happen this season. I’ll tell you what, nobody’s runnin’ the table in 2018. NOBODY!!! It’s goin’ to be a hard fought season and may the strongest survive. Stop me when I start lyin’!

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
