I’m blown away by the amount of people that have been defending the Buccaneers and the NFL throughout this Antonio Brown situation. Everybody was quick to say AB has mental issues when in fact he’s simply a dude that was pissed off at the way the coach spoke to him and handled it wrong.
Now the truth is falling out of the closet and the Arians and the Buccaneers are trying to hide their hands. An MRI on Monday revealed broken bone fragments, a ligament torn from the bone and cartilage loss according to a lengthy statement via his attorney from the wide receiver on Wednesday night.
Brown is scheduled to have surgery to repair the damage. In that same statement AB broke down the sequence of events leading to his departure shirtless from the sideline.
He explained that the team knew all week that he was hurt but he suited up despite being injured because of the pressure from the team to play. After playing on the injured ankle he decided he was too hurt to continue in the game. Again, the training staff and Arians was already aware of the injury throughout the week.
Brown went on in the statement to break down the situation.
“I took a seat on the sideline and my coach came up to me , very upset, and shouted, “What’s wrong with you? What’s wrong with you?” I told him , ‘It’s my ankle.’ But he knew that. It was well-documented and we had discussed it,” Brown said.
“He then ordered me too get on the field. I said, ‘Coach, I can’t.’ He didn’t call for medical attention. Instead, he shouted at me, ‘YOU’RE DONE!” while he ran his finger across his throat. Coach was telling me that if I didn’t play hurt, then I was done with the Bucs.”
Now let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Antonio Brown is NOT crazy or doesn’t have mental issues. He’s a football player that was protecting this most important asset that literally handled the situation poorly by storming off of the field.
Folks are calling AB a quitter because he was protecting his body from a selfish organization that was wiling to put their success for the day over his long term health.
Why are we surprised that the NFL doesn’t really care about the players? Isn’t this the same league that hid the information they knew about the danger of concussions for years from both the players and the fans?
AB ain’t crazy!! He might be the team jerk but he ain’t crazy. Bruce Arians just tried to punk the wrong person and now it’s blowing up in his face. By trying to send a knowingly injured player back out on the field. It opens the door for a serious law suit. If it was well-documented that he was injured and he tried to force him to play on it. The Bucs are in trouble.
That’s why they haven’t officially released him and it’s freaking Thursday. They said on Sunday that he was no longer a Buc. So why is he still on the roster? Because they know that they’ve screwed up. They can’t release him because he was injured.
Arians was the idiot on Sunday not Antonio Brown. Why? Arians is about to cost them a fortune in law suits and AB is going to be laughing all the way to the bank. Stop me when I start lyin’!
