OKLAHOMA CITY — On Tuesday night Young Russ exploded on the Los Angeles Lakers as he dedicated the game to his close friend and fellow LA native Nipsey Hussle. The rapper was shot and killed on Sunday afternoon while standing in front of his business, The Marathon Clothing Store in South Central Los Angeles.

Russ sat on the bench alone some 15 minutes before the game just getting his head right. Ole boy finished the night with 20 points, 20 rebounds and 21 assists!!!

After the game he spoke on it with the TNT crew and had this to say, “Grateful to play the game, but that wasn’t for me, man. That was for my bro, man. That was for Nipsey, Rest in peace to Nipsey, man. I’m just thankful to go out there and compete at a high level, man. Thankful to have these teammates. Thankful and humbled to go out there and play the game I love.”

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! It’s darn near impossible to put up the numbers Russ has been putting up over the past three seasons and he continues to do it effortlessly. We went 55 seasons before we saw a player average another triple double in the NBA. It was last done by Oscar Robertson during the 1961-62 season and now Young Russ has done it for the past three seasons!!!

Now he’s hitting boyz off with 20-20-21’s? That’s NUTS!!!!! Who does that? Young Russ!!! And it’s crazy to me that it’s not the biggest deal in the NBA right now. For years folks have been screaming that the triple double was the ultimate stat in basketball. Now boyz want to act like putting up a triple double is like hitting free throws at practice.

Young Russ is in rare air right now being able to put up numbers like that. And please don’t tell me that he’s hogging the ball. That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Do you know how many times he’s got to pass the ball to his teammates to average double digits assists? You sound crazy saying that foolishness.

Even if boyz are allowing him to get rebounds the other team isn’t. Therefore, he’s still got to put in crazy work to finish an entire 82 game season averaging a triple double. Big shout to Russ and RIP to Nipsey Hussle. Stop me when I start lyin’!
