Why this Colts season was one of the most exciting in the past 20 years! “Big Shout to the ENTIRE Organization”

I know that everybody around the Central Indiana and all of Colts Nation were saddened to see their team get the brakes beaten off of them in Kansas City 31-13 on Saturday in the Divisional round. However, when we step back and look at in it’s entirety you’ve got to be pretty darn happy with what the Colts were able to accomplish this year.

They started the season 1-5 and boyz were about to run for the hills like Chicken Little screaming that the sky was falling. Then they went on an unbelievable run to win 9 out of 10 games to get into the playoffs and then they won the Wild Card game to get to the Divisional round. It was one of the most exciting seasons that I’ve experienced living here in Indy over the past 21 years.

Yes, I was here when they won the Super Bowl for the 2006 season and was here when Peyton Manning and Co. was sprinting through teams nearly every week of multiple seasons getting deep into the playoffs. But it was something amazing about this campaign and coming out of the depths to even have a chance at getting into the playoffs that was incredible.

Think about it, there have only been two other teams in the history of the league to ever make the playoffs after going 1-5 to start the season. They were the 2015 Kansas City Chiefs and the 1970 Cincinnati Bengals. The fact that Frank Reich and Co. were able to guide this team out of the toilet in Week 6 and into the Divisional Round is remarkable in and of itself. The fact that EVERY week of the regular season was like being in the playoffs made it so special.

This is only Reich’s first year as the head coach of the Colts and he walked them into the playoffs!!! Who does that? Yeah, they got beat by the No.1 seed, and badly I must add, but they shouldn’t have been there in the first place. That says a lot about what the future looks like in Indy under Reich and general manager Chris Ballard.

Indianapolis led the league in sacks a year ago with 56 and just one year later they gave up the least amount of sacks at 18 keeping Andrew Luck healthy. I don’t know about you but I’m extremely excited about what the Colts future looks like. Big shout to the entire organization for a fantastic 2018 season!!! Keep grinding and stop me when I start lyin’!
