Hold on a second dawg, Nijel Pack is that dude!!!! Let’s be as clear as vodka about that. He’s the best point guard I’ve seen in the state of Indiana in a long time!!!! Yeah, I know there have been some boyz that can go but I haven’t seen a floor general this good in a while.
What makes him so good? He’s the toughest kid on the floor every night and he’s got the ball in his hands on every possession and knows what to do with it. When they say let’s go he’s already gone. The dun sets the tone on the floor and it’s pick ’em up and put ’em down for the rest of the night.
I’ve seen Lawrence Central get after it at least four times this season and two of them were against the defending Class 4A state champs No.1 Warren Central. What was so impressive about him was that he commands the floor when he’s on it and boyz have to respect him. He’s not afraid to shoot it from anywhere on the floor and will pull that joint up from down the street at the Big Momma’s house if need be.
I saw him give Warren Central problems not only in the game where they beat them on Friday night 54-44 but also earlier in the week for the Marion County Championship in which they loss 60-56. He was in complete control of the offense both nights and never looked confused or rattled. He’s the engine that makes Lawrence Central go.
I know that Coach Al Gooden’s got to love having a point guard with that much confidence running his show.
Ole boy can get to the rack whenever he wants to and will pull the mid-range jumper out of his holster like Quick Draw McGraw (old school cartoon you young cats need to Google that joint). Boyz will try their best to tell you that he’s a bit undersized at 6’0″ but his heart is OVERSIZED and his game is NUTS!!!
Yeah, up to this point there has only been a lot of mid-major interest but I saw where the junior guard just recently visited Iowa a little more than a week ago. I GUARANTEE you that more majors will come calling because he’s just that good.
But this isn’t about what colleges or universities are interested in him. It’s about who the best point guard is around this piece and I’m riding with Nijel Pack until somebody comes along with more swag, charisma, ball handling ability, vision and heart than this cat has. It’s not even close. Stop me when I start lyin’!
