Before every Pacers game there is a legendary player tribute video that plays just before the national anthem is played. It gets the crowd hyped and it ends with a picture of Reggie Miller. Without fail the crowd goes crazy when his picture is put up. It’s a great video and it does what it was set out to do. However, I just want to talk to the duns producing it because they’ve left out one significant player and it drives me NUTS!!! Especially over the past year.
When it’s on I just want to pull all of my teeth out, put them back in upside down, rip my eye balls out and throw my small intestine out onto the court. It’s a tribute to all of the legendary players that have played for the Pacers and they’ve got everybody and their Uncle LeRoy on it but Paul George.
Dude!!! They’ve got cats like Jalen Rose on it but no PG!!! C’mon bruh! I know boyz were upset that PG wanted out but the facts are the facts. Paul George was one of the most significant players to ever put on a Pacers uniform. Behind Reggie Miller, Mel Daniels, George McGinnis and Jermaine O’Neal it’s Paul George!!! Stop it!!! You can’t argue otherwise!
Just in All-Star selections alone Paul George makes the list!! Mel Daniels and Jermaine O’Neal made the All-Star Game six times. Then there was Reggie Miller with 5. Paul George is next with 4 along with Bob Netolicky. He’s got more All-Star game appearances than George McGinnis who has 3. Now I’m not saying that he’s better than the original George but he should be on the video.
They’ve got cats like Roy Hibbert, Danny Granger and Dale Davis that only made the All-Star selection once with a Pacers uniform on. I’m not saying that they shouldn’t be on the board either. What I am saying is that Paul George shouldn’t have been omitted because he decided he didn’t want to play in Indiana anymore. He was still one of the best players to EVER put on Pacers gear. I know that the wound is still open for a lot of fans but Paul George should be on the tribute because he did put in work in Indiana.
He can’t be deleted from it’s history because the fans are upset with him for wanting to play somewhere else. He led the organization to two straight Eastern Conference Finals appearances. That’s got to count for something right? At some point the healing has to take place and by putting him on the tribute video is a start.
Now you can debate what players were better in the aforementioned group all you want but I’m not interested in wrestling about that. I’m just saying that Paul George should be in the pre-game video if you’ve got Jalen Rose, Roy Hibbert, Dale Davis and cats like Rik Smits on it. As a matter of fact, just pull Jalen off because he wasn’t an All-Star, insert PG and we’re cool. There are other cats on it that shouldn’t be on before Paul too but having Jalen Rose on it is just out right wrong. Stop me when I start lyin’!
