Urban Meyer saying that he vetted Chris Doyle and then hiring him is the PROBLEM! “Good Ole Boy Network”

One day after Urban Meyer hired Chris Doyle as his director of sports performance (strength coach) for the Jacksonville Jaguars the lid popped off as the Fritz Pollard Alliance strongly objected to the hire and rightfully so.

The Fritz Pollard Alliance is a non profit organization devoted to “equal opportunity in the NFL and their executive director, Rod Graves, put them on blast calling the hire unacceptable.

The former Iowa strength coach that was fired last summer for being accused of making racist remarks, belittling and bullying players turned in his resignation on Friday a day after accepting the job.

Many former and current players at Iowa accused Doyle of using racist language and mistreating them. He was let go by the university in June after an extensive external investigation was conducted by a Kansas City law firm.

However, Urban Meyer jumps out of the birthday cake butt naked foaming at the mouth talking like a complete maniac saying that “I’ve known Chris for close to 20 years.” Well…if you’ve known him for 20 years you’d know that he was an idiot that was racist. So to use that as the reason why you felt comfortable hiring this guy says something about you.

If nothing else, it says that you’re fine with his past behavior and as long as he chills out you’re cool.

You can’t look black players in the face and say that I’ve known this guy for 20 years like that makes it okay. Then he starts talking even crazier by saying that he vetted the guy.

“I vet everyone on our staff and like I said, the relationship goes back close to 20 years and a lot of hard questions asked, a lot of vetting involved with all our staff,” Meyer said. “We did a very good job vetting that one.

He goes on to say, “I met with our staff and I’m going to be very transparent with all the players like I am with everything. I’ll listen closely and learn, and also there’s going to have to be some trust in their head coach that we’re going to give them the very best of the best, and time will tell. The allegations that took place, I will say [to the players] I vetted him. I know the person for close to 20 years and I can assure them there will be nothing of any sort in the Jaguar facility.”

WHAT!!!? To vet someone is to sniff around and find out who this person really is. It’s not to sit your homeboy down that has been accused of doing some awful things and get his assurance that he’s not going to do it again. That’s not what vetting is Urban.

He obviously didn’t call the University of Iowa or the Kansas City law firm that conducted the investigation. He sure as heck didn’t call the former players at Iowa that accused Doyle of being a racist to get their opinion of the guy. So how in the world did he vet this one?

Doyle is going to tell you whatever you want to hear to get a check. C’mon Urban you’re on something else and it’s called the “Good ole Boy Network” that’s been keeping black folks out of rooms for 401 years. Stop me when I start lyin’!
