The Purdue Football Program is better TODAY because of Jeff Brohm! “Regardless”

BLOOMINGTON — The Purdue Boilermakers started the season off with three tough losses by a total of 8 points. They had Northwestern on the ropes bleeding from the mouth and somehow let them off of the hook with crazy unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Then somehow allowed Eastern Michigan to walk into Ross-Ade, steal a win 20-19 and walk out. Well…silly penalties again cost them a very winnable ball game. The following week they let Mizzou come in and steal Big Momma’s silverware and her patent leather purse with the Sunday morning peppermints in it.

Well playas…remarkably they finished off the 2018 campaign with a 28-21 win over rival Indiana as they walked out of Bloomington with the Old Oaken Bucket and a ticket punched to their second consecutive bowl game. How did that happen after the foolishness that took place the first three weeks?

Jeff Brohm literally started holding his players accountable for silly mistakes on the field that cost them what we know now as a potential 9 win season. They tightened up the screws and started blasting boyz as they went on a four game winning streak that included the thrashing of then No.2 Ohio State at the crib 49-20. It wasn’t a fluke win either. They literally beat the brakes off of the Buckeyes who managed to recover from that beating to land in the Big Ten Title game next week.

After coming up short the following week at Michigan State they came back to reality and toasted Iowa at home only to get drug up and down the field at Minnesota. The Boilermakers showed some serious resilience against a very good Wisconsin team going into three overtimes before falling.

Finally in a week full of foolishness where a radio host wanted to become an investigative reporter and break news that literally could have waited. Jeff Brohm and Co. handled their business, got on the buses, headed south and earned a trip to their second consecutive bowl game.

Whether Brohm stays or leaves is irrelevant to Boilermaker fans at this point. Sure, they’d love to see him stay but a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do right? He’s from Louisville, played his college ball there and still has family there. Who could blame him for taking the job if it’s been offered and he accepts? At least he’s elevated the Purdue Football program to another level and it’s in better shape TODAY than it was when he found it. Stop me when I start lyin’!
