The M.I.C. continues to prove it’s dominance over the state having 3 of the 4 schools in the Final Four! “A Family Feud”

During the course of the season all you ever hear are people complaining about the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference, better known as the M.I.C. in these athletic streets, dominating the Top 10 rankings. At any giving time you’d see 5 or 6 of the Top 10 teams in the state of Indiana all coming out of the M.I.C.

It’s nothing for folks to be hot around the state acting like there is some type of built-in bias that allows only the M.I.C. to occupy those spots. Well playas…when the dust finally settles reality hits everybody in the face. The M.I.C. is just flat out better than everybody else. That’s in football too but our focus is on the basketball so we’ll stay there.

As we gear up for the Final Four to play it all out this weekend in the Semi-State round three out of the four teams left standing are from where? The M.I.C. playboy!!! Carmel (24-1), Ben Davis (19-7) and Center Grove (21-8) are holding down the conference. You know what they say, “Eight Schools, ONE M.I.C.!!!”

The Greyhounds from Carmel have a date with Penn (24-3) up at Lafayette Jefferson at 3:30pm and the All-M.I.C. showdown between Ben Davis and Center Grove takes place down in Washington, IN. at 6pm on Saturday. They can actually save everybody some time and money and just play it at Center Grove or Ben Davis. I’m just sayin’. Why waste the time driving all the way down their to rock with your neighbor? Don’t trip we can play it at Southport and meet half way. Then after the game hit up WingStop on Shelby Street and then ride horses at Travis Creek Stables. Let’s make it a family affair.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Once again we’ll have an all M.I.C. State Championship. Last year we watched No.1 Warren Central knock off Carmel to post an historic 32-0 season. Don’t allow jealousy and envy to take over when you’re complaining during the regular season that there are too many M.I.C. schools ranked in the Top 10. They deserve to be ranked as high as they are all of the time.

Unfortunately, for everybody else they’ve got the players and the facilities. There’s not much you can do about that. When the schools are much bigger than everybody else’s with a larger pool to pull from in terms of athletes. Then they’ve got crazy weight rooms and strength and conditioning programs along with great coaching staffs it’s a wrap on anybody else pushing through the front or back door.

Yeah, I know that you’re upset but it is what it is. John Michael Mulloy and the homie Karsten Windlan and Co. will walk out of Lafayette Jeff holding the semi-state trophy.  Big Dawand Jones and Jalen Windham and Crew from Ben Davis will be all hands on deck in Washington waiting on the McDonald’s All-American Trayce Jackson-Davis and Co. from Center Grove. Once the smoke clears the winners will meet down at Bankers Life Fieldhouse next week to settle up.

It’s a Family Feud that keeps on getting better. “Eight Schools ONE M.I.C.” but NOBODY wants to share bragging rights. Right? There can only be one Class 4A State Champion and boyz will put everything on the table to win it!! Stop me when I start lyin’!
