SAN ANTONIO — Well playas…the wait is over!!! The Incomparable David Bell is headed to West Lafayette to become a Purdue Boilermaker!!! They’ve got to be dancing in the streets like Lionel Richie in front of Ross-Ade this afternoon!
Jeff Brohm and Co. has pulled the biggest heist known to man to keep one of the best athletes in the state’s history at home. They already had one of the best wide receivers in America on the squad this past year in freshman Rondale Moore and now they’ve got David Bell!!! They both are Indiana kids. This could be the start of something big.
Just in case you don’t know who The Real D. Bell is, let me introduce you to him. He’s one of THEE most accomplished student athletes in the history of Indiana high school sports. He’s a 4-Time Max Preps All-American, US Army All-American, Gatorade Player of the Year. He’s been an undefeated IHSAA State Champ in two sports; football & basketball in the same year!!! Not to mention the All-State honors he’s won etc. He’s probably the most athletic kid I’ve seen in at least 25 or 30 years. In other words Purdue came up.
Bell says that he wanted to play close to home so that his grandmother and rest of the family could come to all of his games. Well…that’ll do it.
And what can you say about Jeff Brohm and staff for being able to land such a big fish at Purdue. Here’s exactly what you need to say, “He’s worth every bit of the bread they’re paying him!!!”
Remember just a month ago they unloaded the truck in front of his house, turned on the fan and blew bread into his front door. According to my mans and nem (hood for unnamed sources) they increased his annual salary from $3.8 million to well over $5 million. That’s big time college football program’s money right there bruh. They hadn’t paid that type of bread to football coaches at Purdue but now they do.
Keep in mind that when they hired Brohm in December of 2016 they walked him in with a 6-year deal worth $20 million which literally came to about $3.3 million per year. Then after he came in and won 7 ball games including a bowl game last year they bumped him to $3.8 million this past April. Now he’s getting $5 million.
Well….a $5 million cat has the ability to close the deal on recruits like David Bell. Purdue’s got one of the best recruiting classes in school history and you can thank the duns that finally decided to come up off of the bread to pay the coaches that can actually get the job done. In my Bart Scott voice, “Cant Wait” to see David Bell line up on one side of the field and Rondale Moore on the other. It’s going to be NUTS up in Ross-Ade next year!!! Stop me when I start lyin’!
