Terre Haute South Advances to the Regional Final after knockin’ off Mt. Vernon!

SOUTHPORT, IN- De’Avion Washington scrambles for 32 points for Terre Haute South as win the Regional semifinal game over Mt. Vernon 80-52.

Mt. Vernon had a big problem coming into today’s game, size difficulty being compared to Terre Hate South. In the first half, the second chance points hurt the tempo for the Marauders. The halftime score was 41-29 with The Braves from Terre Haute having the momentum at the break led by Maleek Logsdon who finished the game with 15 points.

The third quarter was the difference for the game. Where Terre Haute outscored Mt. Vernon by 10 points in that quarter 24-14, Craig Porter was the man with the hot hand that period with 6 points, finishing the game with 14 points.

Mt. Vernon struggled get to the free throw line late as an attempt to slow the Braves down only getting 4 free throws in the entire game. South made 14 free throw attempting 23.

Terre Haute will face Warren Central in the Regional final game which will be a great one after an overtime win for the No.1 Warriors. That game is set to tip at 8pm at Southport High school.
