Stop hatin’ on Tom Brady if you didn’t hate on Michael Jackson, Jordan, Magic, Bird or Rap Music!

GREATNESS — Everybody and their baby’s momma, Uncle LeRoy and Cousin Man-Man nem was rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs to beat Tom Brady and Co. on Sunday night. Everybody that I talked to wanted Brady to lose for the same reason. “I’m tired of him winning! Tom Brady makes me sick!”

When I asked the question why are you tired of him winning and why does he make you sick? The only answer I could get was “I’m tired of seeing them win everything.” WHAT!!!?

You’re watching greatness and you can’t appreciate that? In all of my life there have been two cats that have become all-time greats that boyz consistently hate on. They are Tom Brady and LeBron James. I’ve learned to sit back and enjoy the blessing of being able to see the greatest things.

Brady was a sixth round draft pick out of the University of Michigan. I watched him in college and there was nothing special about him. My boy Erick “Soup” Campbell coached wide receivers at Michigan at the time so I went to Ann Arbor on a regular basis to see the Wolverines. Nobody was talking about Tom Brady because Brian Griese was the man. Brady didn’t start until his junior year.

When he got to New England Drew Bledsoe was the man until he got hurt. Brady was a sixth round pick and has become the greatest quarterback we’ve ever seen. You can’t appreciate that? The dun has won more Super Bowls (5) than any quarterback to ever play the game. He’s played in more Super Bowls (8 now 9) than anyone. He’s won more Super Bowl MVP’s (4) than anyone. C’mon bruh!!! You’ve got to appreciate what he’s been been able to do!!! You don’t hate on that. You’re supposed to appreciate that.

In my lifetime I’ve been able to see a lot of greatness and it’s been a blessing to say that I’ve seen it. I saw Michael Jackson, my homebody from the Gary, Indiana and his brothers become the biggest group in the world from 2300 Jackson Street just 4 blocks from where I grew up. I saw Mike go from a child prodigy to the greatest entertainer in the world!! Boyz didn’t hate on that.

I saw both Magic and Bird battle in the NCAA Tournament’s National Title game in 1979 and then go on to resurrect the NBA in the years to come. I saw them take a league where the Finals were being played on tape delay to becoming the biggest thing since sliced bread.

I was in seventh grade when the first rap record was released “Rappers Delight” by the Sugarhill Gang in 1980! Boyz said that it would only be a quick fad and that it would go away very quickly and now it’s become the biggest music genre in the world. It’s taken over every facet of pop culture and they refused to even play in on MTV until Run DMC came along with the remake of “Walk This Way.” You didn’t hate on that.

I saw Michael Jordan play in the McDonald’s All-Amercan Game, go to North Carolina ball out, win the Naismith Player of the Year Award, get drafted by the Bulls, struggle for 7 years to win and then three-peat twice as they dominated the league. He became the greatest influence the game of basketball has ever known. He retired in 2003 and duns are still wearing his shoes 16 years later. The Jordan Brand has become bigger than Gucci or Louis Vuitton among young folks. You didn’t hate on that.

I saw the the first black President go from an unknown senator on the Southside of Chicago to the President and then re-elected without an ounce of scandal and you know they were looking for it. You didn’t hate on that? Well…some people did but you get my point.

So why is it that you’re hatin’ on Tom Brady for completely dominating a sport like all of the aforementioned were able to do in their respective areas of interest? Enjoy what this man is doing because you won’t ever be able to see it again. Not in your lifetime.

Sure, there will be someone greater than Tom Brady to come along but you won’t see him. He’s a once in a lifetime-type of player. Bruh, I’ve gotten a chance to see Michael Jackson, Prince, Magic, Bird, Kobe, LeBron, Tom Brady, Jerry Rice, Barack Obama and every rapper to ever pick up a microphone in my lifetime. How cool is that? Stop hating and appreciate the greatness for what it is. I hope the dun wins his sixth Super Bowl ring because I want to be able to tell my grand kids about this cat named Tom Brady that completely dominated the sport for 20 years. Stop me when I start lyin’!
