Scottie Pippen sounds like an old head hypocrite suggesting that Zion should shut it down! “WHAT!!?”

It’s obvious that Duke’s Zion Williamson will become the No.1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft in June. So Scottie Pippen decides to get butt naked and start talking like a crazy man foamin’ at the mouth. He says that ole boy has done enough at this point to solidify his position as the No.1 pick so he should shut it down now. Don’t let me put words the dun’s mouth. Here’s what he had to say last week.

“I think he’s locked up the biggest shoe deal. I think he’s definitely going to be the number 1 pick. I think he’s done enough for college basketball that it’s more about him personally now. I think for him as a young player that I would shut it down.”

When asked about Pippen’s comments on Saturday after he helped Duke upset then undefeated Virginia Zion had this to say, “I can’t just stop playing. I’d be letting my teammates down, I’d be letting Coach K down, I’d be letting a lot of people down. If I wanted to sit out, I wouldn’t have went to college. I came to Duke to play.”

Makes all of the sense in the world my brother!!!

Now let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! What Scottie said was 100 percent right. Zion will be the No.1 overall pick and he could be risking injury every time he steps on the floor. However, he chose to play basketball at Duke this year and he made a commitment to the program and more importantly to his teammates. And he’s a freakin’ kid that wants to play in the NCAA Tournament, compete for a national title and make memories of the only darn year of college he’ll ever have.

What’s wrong with being a kid and enjoying the moment? If he were worried about getting hurt this year he could have rolled himself up in bubble wrap and not played at all. He was going to be the No.1 pick overall if he’d just done that. He didn’t have to go to Duke or to anybody else’s college or university to become the first overall pick. He could have gone over seas or played in his freakin’ backyard and been a lottery pick.

He wants to play basketball so he went to Duke to play on the national stage for Coach K. He’s still a kid so he’s learning the game every day. These old heads kill me wanting it both ways. Out of one side of their mouths they’ll say that these young boyz don’t know how to play the game because they didn’t stay in college long enough. You hear them screaming that they don’t know the fundamentals because everybody’s a “one and done” now and that it’s bad for the NBA.

Then out the other side of their mouths they’re telling a dun to shut it down in the middle of their only college season to get ready for the NBA Draft. Which is it playa? Do you want them to learn the game and be ready when they come into the league or don’t you? Just because Zion is physically ready doesn’t mean that he’s mentally ready to play in the NBA. He’s going to get drafted No.1 regardless but will he understand the game at the highest level? No!!

So sense the kid is already in college for the time being he should at least continue to play under the tutalege of the best darn coach in the business. Doesn’t that make sense? Pippen is thinking like a veteran NBA player or should I say a retired NBA player not an 18 year old wet behind the ears unbelievably talented but still learning how to play the game kid from South Carolina.

Keep doing your thing Zion! Shutting it down now would be the ultimate selfish move and his image would take a serious PR hit. Why would he want to do that and he’s not even in the league yet. Boyz kill me telling cat how to make moves when you already know he would be labeled as selfish walking into the league. Did you see the PR hit LeBron took just for announcing that he was going to leave Cleveland AFTER his contract expired to play in Miami? But you want an 18 year old kid to tell the world of college basketball in the middle of the season that he’s shutting it down. Yeah right! Stop me when I start lyin’!
