It blows my mind that fans think that they are entitled to act a fool when they come to an NBA game and not get the brakes beaten off of them. On Thursday night after the Denver Nuggets’ lil’/big homie Gary Harris hit the game winnin’ three-pointer with 1.4 seconds left to beat OKC a fan runs out on the court and confronts Young Russ.
The dun literally got in his face and Westbrook shoved him with his left hand to get him out of his face. Then security and the refs ran up to get rid of the fan.
Now let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Gary Harris hit the freakin’ shot not the dumb actin’ fan that now wants to talk trash to a professional athlete that actually played in the game. Emotions are high and ole boy could have gotten knocked out just for runnin’ up last season’s MVP.
Just because he ran up on him could have gotten him floored. Here’s what Russ had to say about it post-game. “You gotta be able to protect the players, man. The fans are obviously there to enjoy the game, but they can’t come onto the floor. That’s totally unacceptable. They’ll look at it and figure out what’s the best way to deal with it, but to me that’s just totally unacceptable.”
You darn right it’s unacceptable!!! And that’s the edited version. Now here’s the crazy thing, if Russ had fired on him and other fans had jumped in it because OKC was the visitin’ team. The OKC players would have jumped in it too. That’s the code playboy. You’ve got to protect the duns you came in with. Now we’ve got some Ron Artest/Pacers/Pistons Foolishness Part II and who would they blame? Young Russ.
That’s the hypocrisy of it all. A boy throws a cup of beer on a grown man that’s already wired up because of the emotion of the game and everybody’s surprised that the fan got the doors blown off of him. Then everybody’s in complete shock that other Pacers players are now swingin’ on fans that are runnin’ out onto the court.
These players are from the same hoods that you’re from playa and sometimes worse. So don’t act like you can’t get knocked out for runnin’ up on a boy.
If Young Russ had jawed that fool you already know that other fans would have gotten hyped and tried to throw hands and his teammates would have had no choice but to start swingin’. Therefore, fans that run onto the court or gets a little too belligerent should be ejected and banned from NBA arenas. Stop me when I start lyin’!
