LINCOLN, NE. — The Purdue Boilermakers have officially turned the corner after getting out of the gate reckless, losing their first three ball games. Then last Saturday they beat the brakes off of then No.23 Boston College before running up to Lincoln and doin’ damage on the Cornhuskers 42-28 to improve to 2-3.

I’ve been sayin’ all season that this Boilermaker team has crazy talent and can put up points!! They should be 5-0 right now but it is what it is. When they walked into Memorial Stadium in Lincoln they get hit in the mouth early as the Cornhuskers drew first blood with a quick 10 play 75 yard drive as Devine Ozigbo ran for an 18 yard touchdown to go up 7-0.

That woke up Jeff Brohm’s Crew and they went on to score 20 unanswered to end the half 20-7. DJ Knox exploded for a 42 yard touchdown to knot it up at 7 and it was off to the races after that. David Blough played a solid first half guiding a well balanced offense as he and his compadres did work on Nebraska’s defense amassing 252 yards of total offense in just two quarters. Blough threw for 132 yards as the run game picked up 120 yards in the first half alone!!!! Talk about being able to move the football..

The Boilermakers finished the day with 516 yards of total offense as David Blough put up 328 himself!!! That’s NUTS!!! They had 188 yards rushing as a squad. Now I know that all sounds good and it’s always great to walk out of the joint with a win because God knows that needed it. However, their defense gave up everything but their grandmother’s earrings.

Nebraska finished the day with 582 yards of total offense with 259 on the ground!! They made Devine Ozigbo look like freakin’ Gale Sayers out there!! The dun ended the day with 170 yards on on just 17 carries!!

But let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The Boilermakers have won two in a row and they’ll live with that all day. Purdue tight end Brycen Hopkins showed, like my momma used to say, “His bare bottom” out there on Saturday. He balled out finishin with 5 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown. Ole boy put in work on the road and what else can we say about the true freshman Rondale Moore? He leads the Big Ten in receptions and picked up 8 more for 85 yards.

After the first three games of foolish unsportsmanlike conduct penalties the Boilermakers look to be a dangerous team in the Big Ten. Well…they aren’t going to be a push over that’s for sure. Boyz aren’t going to be able to just run up on them and snatch their sneakers and jewelry off of them anymore. Whoever runs up will have understand that it’ll be a fight. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Up next Illinois in Champaign.
