UTAH — After losing two straight the Pacers run out to Utah to beat the brakes off of the Jazz 121-88 to gain some confidence on their west coast swing. What a great way to start the trip off.

They got off of the bus and jumped all over the Jazz going up 9-2 before a boy could sit down and bite into his hot dogs. Utah had 3 turnovers within the first 4 minutes of the game. The Jazz calmed down quickly and competed during the first quarter despite committing 6 turnovers. Indiana led 33-23 after going on a 9-3 run to close the opening quarter shooting 14 of 19 from the field which is an amazing 72 percent from the field on the road!!!

The Blue and Gold continued to do work on the Jazz well into the second quarter shooting 52 percent from the field and 44 percent from behind the arc as they got into the brake up 58-47. Myles Turner scored 11 of his 16 points in the first half as Corey Joseph came out of the bushes and dropped off 10 of his 13 points in the first half as well.

I don’t know what was said in the locker room at the break but the Pacers came out in the second half and went nuts on Utah. They had a total of 7 players in double figures by the time this game was over led by Doug McDermott’s 21 points off of the bench.

Bojan Bogdanovic dropped off 15 as Tyreke Evans put up a solid 14. Corey Joseph and Domantas Sabonis contributed 13 points apiece as Aaron Holiday continues to take advantage of playing time as he dropped off 12 points on his way to Big Momma’s house.

Nate McMillan’s bunch shot the lights out of the gym shooting an amazing 58 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc. As a team they had 33 assists!! Their goal is at least 24 per night. Up next Phoenix tonight.
