NEW YORK — After getting their brakes blown off of them earlier in the week at Boston and giving up a season high 135 points. The Indiana Pacers did some soul searching before showing up in New York City to play the Knicks. They wanted to finish the longest road trip of the season (5 games) with a winning record.

Well…they finished as well as to be expected by destroying the Knicks 121-106 led by Domantas Sabonis to finish that road trip 3-2. As usual in Madison Square Garden he was on fire!! Ole boy finished with 22 points and 15 rebounds to help the Pacers bounce back from their worse performance of the season at Boston just two days before. Sabonis started in place of Myles Turner who was out with a sore right shoulder.

Indiana had six players finish in double figures including Sabonis. Victor Oladipo dropped off 19, Bojan Bogdanovic had 15, Thaddeus Young 13 and both Doug McDermott and Tyreke Evans finished with 12 apiece.

Nate McMillan had to be excited with the ball movement his team provided finishing with 30 assists. His goal is for them to have at least 25 every night. They shot extremely well knocking down 53 precent of their shots from the field and 46 percent from behind the arc and believe it or not they were 11 for 11 from the foul line!!! Incredible for the Pacers at the charity stripe.

Indiana improves to 28-14 overall and they’re 14-9 on the road sitting third in the East!!! Big shout to Nate and Co. for holding it down out here in these NBA streets!!! Up next Phoenix at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Tuesday.
