SOUTHPORT — Everybody showed up at Southport for the Marion Country Tournament semifinals on Friday night but most importantly boyz wanted to see what all the hype was about with the 44-0 No.1 ranked Warren Central Warriors. In Game 1 they were about to bump head with the Pike Red Devils, a team that’s been red hot this past week beating Brebeuf and then going over to Ben Davis and knocking them off.
Well playas…there is no hype when it comes to Warren Central it’s ALL #FACTS!!! It was over before it even got started and it ended in a 59-35 blowout. They jumped out of the Chevy and went on a 6-0 run to start the game with Pike having to call a timeout to get the license plate of the vehicle that side swiped them getting out of the ride.
The Warriors came out playing crazy defense forcing turnovers quickly which turned into easy transition buckets. Manny Brown was literally unconscious out there getting to the rack at will scoring at least 8 of his 12 points in the first half. At the end of the first quarter Warren was up 21-7 with most of those points coming in the paint and by the break it was 30-17 and I hadn’t even bitten into my hot dog yet.
The undefeated Class 6A state champs from a year ago haven’t lost a step and they may be much better than they were last year with the addition of Manny Brown and Isiah Moore. They are probably the most confident team I’ve seen all season and rightfully so. They walked into the joint 44-0 and walked out with 45!!!
The second half was literally a matter of formality bruh! Other teams are literally trying to hold on to the knot in the rope playing these cats. They were led by both Jesse Bingham and Isiah Moore with 15 points each as Malik Stanley dropped off 11 on his way to Big Momma’s house!
