COLUMBUS, OHIO– Arike Ogunbowale officially has ice water flowin’ through her veins! For the second game in a row she’s knocked down the game winner with a second or less on the clock. On Easter Sunday she nailed a three-pointer with .1 second left to win the National Title over Mississippi State 61-58.

On Friday she hit the game winner with a second left in overtime to get rid of UConn who was previously 36-0. Talk about an OUTSTANDING 48 hours for this young lady.

So 17 years later to the day the Fightin’ Irish win their second national title in school history. Wow!!! What a Final Four for the Women’s game. Both of the semi-finals were classics and the national title ended with a bang.

Notre Dame struggled in this one and even had to rally from a 15-point third quarter deficit to get back in it. Heck, they were down 5 with 1:58 left until Marina Mabrey hit a three and Jackie Young hit a bucket in the paint to tie it.

Arike Ogunbowale struggled all night to find her rhythm after missin’ her first 9 pf 10 shots. It wasn’t until the second half that she found her way scorin’ 16 of her 18 points. At one point she was so frustrated that she hit the stanchion behind the basket.

With three seconds left everybody and their baby’s momma knew that Arike would be takin’ the shoot because accordin’ to her she had that “Mamba Mentality” to make it happen. She’d already gotten rid of UConn on Friday so the confidence was there. Boom!!! She knocks it down and Notre Dame are National Champs again!!! Salute young ladies!!! Enjoy and stop me when I start lyin’!

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
