Michigan State erases a 13-point deficit to win the Big Ten Tournament over Michigan! “Red HOT”

CHICAGO —  Michigan State not only won Big Ten Regular season but they won the Tournament Championship after knocking of Michigan 65-60. The Spartans fought back after being down by as many as 13 points to get the win.

Ignas Brazdeikis took no time to get going for Michigan as he scored the first nine points for the Wolverines as the rest of the team shot 0-6 from the field. Michigan State controlled the first 10 minutes of the game as they out rebounded Michigan in the first half 18-14.

With six minutes to go the Wolverines regained the lead after an 8-0 run.

The momentum changed for the Spartans when Kyle Ahrens came down on his ankle and was in extreme pain. He was then carted off but returned to the sideline on crutches as the x-rays turned out to be negative.

Once play resumed first possession out State knocked down a three to stop the run, but Michigan was not done. They then went on a 7-0 run as the lead got to as many as 13.

The Wolverines caused six Michigan State turnovers that turned into nine points, while they only had two turnovers in the entire first half. Michigan also shot 45 percent in the first half as they led 31-23 at the break.

Out of halftime Michigan continued their hot streak on an 8-0 run. The Spartans responded on a 12-3 run cutting the deficit to three. Matt McQuaid went lights out in the second half. He hit four of his seven threes and finished with a game high 27 points and four rebounds.

Michigan went ice cold to end the game as the Spartans finished the game on a 13-3 run with a go-ahead basket from Cassius Winston to win it 65-60 over Michigan. Winston was the Big Ten Tourney Most Outstanding Player as he ended the game with a double-double 14 points and 11 assists.

Jon Teske had a double-double for the Wolverines with 10 points and 10 rebounds and teammate Ignas Brazdeikis added 19 points and six rebounds.

Both teams will now wait to see what their fate is with the Selection Committee as to where they will land in the NCAA Tournament.
