The Carmel Greyhounds are like Bae-Bae’s Kids. They’re opportunities don’t die they just multiply. Every time the smoke clears they’re playing for a state title. You can’t get rid of them in any sport because they just keep coming back for more. On Saturday they beat the brakes, doors, transmission and back seats off of Penn 71-42 to advance to the Class 4A state title game for the second consecutive year.

Last year they loss to Warren Central in the title game and now they’re back for more to take on conference rival Ben Davis in the Class 4A title game on this coming Saturday night.

John Michael Mulloy and Co. have been able to navigate the land mines to get back to Bankers Life Fieldhouse by going 25-1 this season. Their only loss was to Brownsburg by 2-points back in January and now they’re on a 14 game winning streak.  So they’ll be hard to knock off as they show up for the state title game.

The consistency in winning at Carmel drives the jealous hearted crazy. Since 1970 they’ve won 162 state championships across all sports!!! Are your kidding me?

They’ve won a state title in 19 of the 22 sports offered. They’ve been a state champ or runner-up in all 20 sports that the ISHAA currently offers. They are the only school in the state to accomplish such a feat. Oh, did I forget to mention that the girl’s swim team just won it’s 33rd straight state title which is the longest all-time state title streak in the nation in any sport? And now the hoop team is on the verge of winning yet another state title for the program? That’s insane!!!

Big shout to coach Ryan Osborn for the work he’s put in this year with the Greyhounds!! It should be fun to watch on Saturday. Stop me when I stop lyin’!
