LOS ANGELES — Almost a month after the death of Kobe and GiGi Bryant there will be an official memorial service honoring the life of the basketball legend. It will be called “A Celebration of Life for Kobe and Gianna Bryant.” The service will be held today Monday February 24 to represent the jersey numbers of both Kobe (No.24) and GiGi (No.2).

More than 20,000 people are expected to be in attendance after 80,000 folks applied for tickets through a lottery. It isn’t known if Kobe’s wife Vanessa, and their three surviving daughters, Natalia, Bianca and Capri or his parents will attend. Kobe and GiGi were laid to rest in a private funeral a couple of weeks ago.

The memorial service will be televised on ESPN for the world to see at 1pm Eastern. The Houston Rockets James Harden and Russell Westbrook and Oregon’s Sabrina Ionescu are scheduled to speak.

The entire Lakers organization is expected to be there along with the Clippers and the Memphis Grizzlies who play at Staples Center later tonight.
