FAR EAST SIDE, INDIANAPOLIS, IN. — Boyz can say what they want to about the east side but what they can’t say is that they don’t win at the highest level! In 2018 the Warriors from Warren Central completely dominated the hoop season winnin’ both the Boyz and Girlz Class 6A State Championships. Now everybody and their baby’s momma includin’ Uncle LeRoy is sittin’ in the cut waitin’ to see what the football team has up their sleeves.

Comin’ off of 7-4 season and a No.2 rankin’ in 2017 they’re loaded with a team full of veterans!!! They’ve got 40 seniors leanin’ in the ride just waitin’ for a boy to get out of line. The Warriors return 12 starters (6 on offense and 6 on defense). That’s a problem bruh! Not only is the incomparable David Bell back for more but he’s comin’ off of an undefeated 32-0 state championship as a leader on that hoop team. You didn’t know?

So what does that have to do with him and football? Well playboy…he’s one of the best players in America and he already knows what it tastes like to win a state championship. So his leadership in the huddle and in the locker room will be a tremendous advantage for his teammates to feed off of.

When asked what he was lookin’ forward to most this season he said that he wanted to be more of a vocal leader. Listen here:

I don’t need to tell you who this dun is but I will. Accordin’ to 247Sports.com he’s the No.2 ranked recruit from the state of Indiana. He’s the 16th ranked wide receiver in the country and the 106th ranked overall player in America. In other words, he’s all that and a bag of Funyuns. Durin’ his first three years at Warren he’s already caught 155 balls for 2,925 yards. So he’s bringin’ all of that to the table and a state championship ring. Problems!

I just wanted make sure that you knew that before I start talkin’ about the other studs in the ride with him rockin’ that WC. Not only will he be a problem on offense but you’ve got to deal with Romeir Elliott (Southern Illinois commit). Not only can he run the rock but he looks good doin’ it playa. He made my All-Uniform team last season.

That’s reserved for all of the fellas that know how to put a uniform on. Not just put it on playa…but put it on and make it look so good that it intimidates opponents when a boy is comin’ out of the locker room. Then he’ll run all over you. Don’t forget about Jayden George holdin’ them down at quarterback. His experience and composure in the pocket will be critical to their success this year.

Don’t even get me to talkin’ about the problems boyz will have to deal with offensive tackle Justin Britt, who has already committed to Iowa. He’s a beast and everybody knows it. Ole boy will be takin’ all kinds of sneakers and jewelry pancakin’ boyz. Just call him Deebo now bruh. On defense there’s the Carruthers brothers, Calum and Ciree roamin’ the secondary causin’ all kinds of problems. Did I say problems? That’s exactly what I meant.

Again, this is the team that should have been playin’ for a state title last year but the IHSAA shoved Ben Davis into the same sectional with them and they were the No.2 team in the state. So unfortunately, we had to watch BD beat the breaks off of Penn 62-7.

I got a chance to speak with Coach Jayson West on Thursday evenin’ after practice and he’s not trippin’ off of the sectional from last year. He said, “That’s just how it goes in this state with the draw, how it is. We can’t lay around and feel sorry for ourselves! No one else is going to. We gotta pick it up and keep moving just like life and that’s why I love sports. It teaches them that you don’t always get what you want.”

When asked how having 40 seniors is goin’ to make his team better he had this to say, “Large groups of seniors can be either an advantage or disadvantage because all of them really aren’t going to get to play. You only get to play 11. You have to have a strong group that loves each other that plays for each other that runs scout team. It’s all of those little things that gets the sideline up. Whether you’re in whether you’re not. It doesn’t matter you’re supposed to be a senior and a Warrior. If we can do that and our leaders train that in the locker room on and off of the field. I like this group.”

I’m really lookin’ forward to seein’ these guys open the season with Center Grove next Friday on the 17th. Two unbelievably good teams meetin’ Day 1. It should be something special because Warren Central is the real deal in 2018. Don’t take my word for it playa! See for yourself and you can stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus: Learn these words this football season!

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.

3) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
