The Indiana high school basketball season has officially kicked off and the Lawrence Central Bears are pulling up on boyz like WHAT!!! They’re loaded with two Mr. Basketball candidates and a truck load of role players ready to get their hands dirty.

On Friday night they sprinted through the defending Class 6A state champs, the Carmel Greyhounds, 67-41 like it they were standing still.

Right out of the gate Dre’ Davis, the Louisville recruit, jumped out of the ride and went NUTS. Ole boy was shooting the lights out of the gym as he led the Bears with 24 points. He dropped 15 of Lawrence Central’s 39 points in the first half. There was no limit to his range either. Davis was taking boyz to the rack and shooting from the parking lot on them.

Then Nijel Pack, the Kansas State recruit, jumped out of the driver’s seat in the second half and unloaded scoring 12 of his 18 points to put pressure on Carmel to keep up.

The Bears are darn near impossible to defend because they’ve got shooters everywhere like the Carter. The depth is NUTS and that’s going to be a huge advantage for them this year. Sophomore Tae Davis, Dre’s younger brother, is a monster in his own right. So they’re about to be a serious problem in the state of Indiana.

There was nothing for Carmel to be ashamed of because they’re young. They’ve got only one senior and that’s guard Jackson Jennsen. However, the sophomores, Charlie Williams and Peter Suder led the Greyhounds with 11 points each. As they grow as a team they’ll become a very good team.

Lawrence Central is clearly the best team in the state right now and it’s going to be scary to see them get any better. Stop me when I start lyin’!
