Kanye obviously doesn’t know the basic definition of choice nor intellect! “Shut Up and Record”

This dun right here...

By now everybody and their baby’s momma’s momma, Ms. Jackson, has heard the ignorance that Kanye West spit out of his mouth on TMZ Tuesday. In case you’ve been livin’ under a rock with ear plugs on. The dun tried too hard to be relevant and chopped both of his feet off in the process.

Ole boy said, “When you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years? That sounds like a choice. You was there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all. It’s like we’re mentally in prison. I like the word prison because slavery goes too direct to the idea of blacks. Slavery is to blacks as the Holocaust is to Jews. Prison is something that unites as one race, blacks and whites, that we’re the human race.”

He later jumped on Twitter tryin’ to clarify his statements and dug the hole even deeper by tweetin’, “To make myself clear. Of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on a boat by free will … My point is for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved.”

What!!!? This is a classic example of a fool gone mad. Every now and then you get a dun with crazy influence that thinks that he can say, like my momma used to say, “Whatever comes up comes out” without thinkin’ at all. Some cats want to be known as an intellectuals and end up bein’ known as a darn fool and that’s the edited version.

Kanye has been talkin’ crazy for years but boyz have just let him talk because what he’s always had to say was so insignificant that folks ignored him. Well…until Tuesday.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! You know you’ve stepped off of the deep end tryin’ to slam your own people when other races of people are sayin’ that you’re completely out of line.

As soon as he opened his mouth he showed the world how ignorant he was of the institution of slavery in America when he said 400 years. Who was enslaved for 400 years bruh? The Children of Israel? Black folks in America weren’t enslaved for 400 years? Where are you from? The first 20 slaves came to Jamestown in 1619 and the institution was abolished in 1863. You do the math playboy. That’s 244 years not 400. So if you’re goin’ to try to sound intelligent at least know how long this foolishness lasted. And sure, there are suggestions that some slaves were in America as early as 1526 but they were the property of the Spanish. That’s neither here nor there. It still ain’t 400 years.

So when folks in West Africa were bein’ hunted by slavers, shackled and chained that was their choice Kanye? When they were piled into the bottoms of ships for months at a time that was by choice. When their language, culture and identities were taken away from them that was by choice?

Are you really sayin’ that they wanted the slave masters to rape our women, destroy our families and beat the brakes off of our ancestors? Was it our choice not to be able to read and write because it was just cool to be subserviant to another race of people that made us work for free from sun up to sun down?

Or maybe once we were freed from the institution of slavery after 244 years that we chose to be arrested in the masses for just standin’ near railroad crossings for years. You do realize that this is how mass incarceration started in this country right? It suddenly became illegal for blacks to be anywhere near railroads because they were tryin’ to go north.

The prison population went from bein’ 95 percent white to flippin’ to darn near bein’ all black in no time because you could arrest a black man for essentially no reason and keep him in jail because the labor was free. Sound familiar bruh? Not too much has changed 155 years later. If I’ve got to explain how discriminatory the criminal justice system is in this piece then something is wrong with you and not me.

Did black folks choose to have the Ku Klux Klan ride through the south terrorizin’ them for decades tarrin’ and featherin’ and lynchin’ innocent people because it was fun? Did we chose to go through the Jim Crow era and into the Civil Rights Movement because we didn’t have anything else to do with our time?

Did black and white folks in America just volunteer to die tryin’ to fight for equal rights for all Americans? Were they marchin’ and protestin’ because it was just somethin’ to do or was it necessary?

Kanye, while you’re tryin’ to be an intellectual, don’t bruh. You’re an idiot that’s really good at producin’ great music. Stay in your lane. I wouldn’t tell you to “Shut up and record” but you’ve proven that you’re incapable of speakin’ on behalf of black folks. So you need to literally shut up and record.

You’ve made so much money that you’ve completely had a brain fart and forgot that this thing was real. Most ignorant people in America think that the ghetto was produced by black folks bein’ lazy. An intellect human being understands that it’s far deeper than that. The Fair Housing Act that prohibited discrimination concerning the sale, rental and/or financing of housing based on race, religion, national origin or sex wasn’t signed until 1968.

Therefore, up until that point black folks couldn’t live wherever they wanted to and even after the darn bill was signed they couldn’t. I grew up in Gary, Indiana in the 1970’s and ’80’s and my family, like many others, in the G weren’t poor. We just couldn’t live in the suburbs because of the foolishness that were discussin’ right now. My dad was a pharmacist and my mother was a school teacher but black folks couldn’t live in the suburbs. That wasn’t a choice that was highly recommended for safety purposes. Was it a choice for my high school football team to have a 30 foot cross burned at the end of the third quarter while playin’ Valparaiso High School in 1981?

I guess in another 100 years some fool is goin’ to say that all of these black unarmed men and women that are bein’ killed by some of these shady police officers was by choice too. The story will be that they all had a meetin’ and decided to be the chosen one’s to die to help the news cycle stay fresh.

So the next time you feel the need to express yourself Kanye. Write a song about bein’ an idiot and only release it to yourself. I hope our kids are payin’ attention to what happens when you give someone too much power and they don’t respect the people. I’m only askin’ him to “shut up and record” because he’s proven that he doesn’t have the intellectual capacity to speak on subjects outside of music. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Ms. Jackson – Song by the rap group OutKast

2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

3) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”

The caption under the photo isn’t real but its real talk!
