While everybody is singing the praises of James Harden for scoring at least 30 points in 20 consecutive games nobody’s talking about the obvious. Houston ain’t winning! Sure the dun is putting up crazy points but how valuable is he to his team and how is he making his teammates better? He’s putting up ridiculous numbers and they’re not any better of a team that the darn Lakers without LeBron.
The Rockets are 26-20 sitting in the 5th spot in the West and the darn Lakers are literally 25-23 sitting in the 9th spot. I bring that up to make this point, when boyz start hollering MVP with James Harden falling out of their mouths please remember what VALUE is. It’s worth!! So MOST VALUABLE means the person that is of MOST WORTH to their team.
Just two and a half months into the season (at Christmas) LeBron had the Lakers, who were trash when he showed up last summer, 2.5 games out of first place in the West!!! They were sitting in the fourth spot at the time behind Denver, Golden State and Oklahoma City.
They beat the brakes off of Golden State on Christmas night just to let a boy know they were in the building and LeBron wasn’t even on the floor after the midway point of the third quarter because he got hurt in that game and hasn’t played since. The Lakers have been a dumpster fire ever since.
My point here is this, stop telling me about how much of an MVP candidate James Harden is if he can’t make his team any better by putting up crazy points every night. At this point all he’s doing is gunnin’ and getting points. The team and his individual teammates aren’t getting any better when he throws up 40 or 50 points. So how is he most valuable to his team when they aren’t getting any better?
Value is measured by how good the team is with him on the floor. Since LeBron hasn’t played the Lakers are just as bad as they were before he got there. When he was on the floor they were a much better team. That’s called VALUE!!! Stop me when I start lyin’!
