It was refreshing to see Jordan and the Bulls wearing grown man clothes in “The Last Dance “There used to be a Standard”

We’ve only seen two episodes of “The Last Dance” and it’s turned out to be one of the best documentaries ESPN has produced. Simply because of the nature of the topic. Michael Jordan has been the most famous and recognized sports figure on the planet for more than three decades and folks haven’t known much about the inside stories of he and the Bulls.

Therefore, everybody and their baby’s momma was locked and loaded on this past Sunday watching it. The first two episodes pulled 6.2 million viewers. That’s NUTS!!!

What I found refreshing to see were grown men dressed like GROWN men. Boyz were showing up to play with grown man gear on. SUITS!!! Now they were big suits but that’s what was fashionable at the time. Big suits!! However, they were wearing adult gear.

These duns today show up to the games dressed like children!!! It drives me CRAZY!!! I’m not just talking about the cat that’s 19 or 20 fresh out of college or just two years removed from high school. I’m talking about duns that are 30 plus showing up looking like Dennis the Menace. Have you ever paid attention to cats getting off the bus or pulling into the arena? It’s ridiculous!

To see Jordan, Pippen and the rest of the fellas (well…excluding Dennis Rodman) getting on and off the bus dressed like grown men with money was great to see again. There was a time in this country when folks (especially black folks) took pride in themselves whether they had money or not.

People actually combed or bushed their hair and shaved on a regular basis. Even if a dun wore a beard he took care of it by shaping and trimming it once a week. They put on clothes and actually pressed them. Duns now day look like they found their pants under the bed and just put them on.

I don’t care how much money they had or didn’t have they at least had a suit or nice outfit to put on when they were going somewhere.

I grew up in Gary, Indiana and most folks parents didn’t have much. However, if there was a banquet at the school or simply church on Sunday to go to, the poorest of folks had a suit to put on and some shoes that were shined. Why? Because people took pride in themselves. In 2020 boyz are just fine looking a hot mess and that includes those with millions of dollars in their pockets.

Unfortunately, I have to blame these young women today for this foolishness. Why? Because back in the day you couldn’t get a woman if your hair wasn’t combed and your clothes weren’t clean and pressed. There was no way you could pull up on a woman worth anything with your pants hanging off of you, hair everywhere, and get some play. NOT A CHANCE playboy!!

However, because men will do whatever a woman says or wants them to do because they’ve got all of the power and you know what power is I’m talking about. If you don’t keep on living. If these women today would demand that these fools (at any level of income) put on some clothes and comb their hair. They would be putting on clothes and combing their hair. It’s just that simple.

I hope that during this documentary on the Bulls somebody will become inspired to at least try to look like they’re ready to start looking like a grown man. Stop me when I start lyin’!
