For the past 6 years I’ve been questionin’ boyz logic as to why EVERYBODY and their baby’s momma keeps landin’ on Michael Jordan as bein’ the GOAT. I’ve broke down every imaginable angle usin’ the numbers, that never lie I might add, to question the foolishness that Jordan is the GOAT without givin’ duns like Magic, Kareem, The Big O, Bill Russell, LeBron or Kobe a seat at the table.
The number one reason boyz holler about Jordan bein’ the GOAT is the fact that he won 6 NBA titles, he went 6-0 in the Finals and he never went to a game 7! That’s it! That’s what you get from 99.9999% of cats out here. Why? Because they can’t think for themselves or that their too lazy to do any research for themselves. Nobody ever told them that Bill Russell went 8-0 in the Finals from 1959-66 and that he won titles in 1957, ’68 and ’69. Nobody told them that 12 cats in the history of the NBA had won 6 or more championships and that 9 cats had won more championships than Jordan.
Oh I’m talkin’ crazy? Let me put it where the goats can get it. Bill Russell’s got 11, Sam Jones 10, John Havlicek 8, Tom Heinsohn 8, K.C. Jones 8, Tom “Satch” Sanders 8, Robert Horry 7, James Loscutoff 7 and Frank Ramsey. And please stop actin’ like Pippen, Kareem and Bob Cousey don’t all have the same amount of rings as Jordan.
Boyz have relied on the highlights for more than 20 years to convince them that Jordan is the GOAT. The highlights never miss a shot because they only show the best plays and the shots that actually went in. So if you’ve been watchin’ highlights for 20 years Mike is 100 percent from the field and is ALWAYS goin’ to win the game.
I’ve done more than 85 Hot Joints just comparin’ “Jordan vs. LeBron” in every aspect of the game and the numbers don’t lie!!! Now that Russell Westbrook is ballin’ out of control I started lookin’ at how he compares to Mike before Jordan got the coach and role players he needed to start winnin’ anything.
Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! Ya’ll do realize that Jordan never got out of the first round of the playoffs until after Scottie Pippen showed up right? So the theory that Jordan made Scottie is mathematically incorrect. The truth is, Scottie made Mike!! Why? Because Mike would have only been the dun that scored a lot of points but never won anything if it had not been for Scottie comin’ along side of him. How many cats over the years fits that description? I’m just sayin’.
Russell Westbrook (Young Russ) is better than Mike before Mike started winnin’ championships simply because of his ability to affect the game. offensively in multiple aspects before we go any further. Young Russ is by far more athletic than Jordan ever was. As a matter of fact, he’s probably in the Top 4 in All-Time athleticism. Outside of Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders and Adrian Peterson there isn’t another athlete that we’ve seen in any sport that’s more athletic.
Mike was the GREATEST SCORER of all-time! He averaged 30.12 per game!! You can’t take that away from him. He played great defense and once he got the best coach of all-time and probably the best set of role players of all-time on the same teams he started winnin’ championships. Oh, he didn’t have crazy role players? He always had a dead eye shooter, Craig Hodges (3-point champion), Steve Kerr (best 3-point shootin’ percentage of all-time), John Paxson, B.J. Armstrong. He had the best wing-man in the league in Scottie. Horace Grant was a monster before they got Dennis Rodman (best rebounder in the league). So yes, he had a complete squad around him when he showed up to the Finals.
Sure, he went 6-0 when he finally made it to the Finals but nobody talks about the 7 years he didn’t make it to the Finals before he actually sniffed his first. You don’t get credit for gettin’ swept in the first round on several occasions and fallin’ short but Mike does. You don’t get credit for gettin’ blasted in the Eastern Conference semifinals either. So why doesn’t anybody remember Mike not gettin’ to the Finals when they bring up other players losin’ in the Finals? I’m listenin’?
So if we look at Mike’s individual game compared to Young Russ’ with no help Young Russ’ game is better. Westbrook is essentially playin’ by himself right now and he’s affectin’ EVERY aspect of the offensive flow of his team and he’s put up 19 triple doubles this year. That’s the most since Wilt put up 31 in 1967-68 bruh! But here’s the foolishness of it all bruh! There’s still 40 more games to go. He’s only been in the league 9 years and he’s recorded 56! That puts him 6th all-time in triple doubles behind Oscar Robinson 181, Magic 138, Jason Kidd 107, Wilt 78 and Larry Bird 59 ALREADY!
Mike only posted 30 triple doubles total in his 15 year career. He had 28 regular season joints and only 2 in the playoffs. In 7 of his 15 years, that’s darn near half of his career, he didn’t post a single triple double in the regular season nor the playoffs!! In 1989 he posted 15 but once he started winnin’ championships in 1991 he only posted 7 total for the rest of his career. He had 2 in 1992, 4 in 1993 and 1 in 1997.
But you boyz keep tryin’ to tell me that he’s the greatest player of all-time and all he did was shoot the ball more than everybody else in the league every year. He’s supposed to score more points if he shoots more than everybody else. The only cats that shot the ball more than Mike was 1) Kobe, 2) John Havlicek, 3) Karl Malone and 4) Kareem. And he wasn’t the greatest shooter. Why? Because the numbers don’t say that the was. He’s 143nd in career field goal shootin’ percentage bruh! LeBron is a better shooter than Mike because he’s ranked 132nd!! If I’d asked that question 99.9993 of you cats would have said Mike was a better shooter. Why? Because you’ve been brain washed to think so. This isn’t my opinion! These are the facts!! Now Young Russ isn’t a great shooter either but he’s not just concentratin’ on just shootin’. He’s doin’ EVERYTHING on the floor offensively.
Just think if Westbrook all of a sudden got Gregg Poppovich, the best active coach in the league. Got LeBron, the best wing-man in the game right now as his runnin’ mate. Karl Anthony Towns, the leadin’ rebounder in the NBA and any one of the three point shooters from Golden State. Pick one, any one! You would look at Russell Westbrook’s game through a completely different lens.
Of course his rebounds would go down significantly because he wouldn’t have to do it as much. However, the fact that he’s postin’ triple doubles at the rate he’s doin’ it right now tells you that he’s goin’ to out hustle boyz in other aspects of the game. So he’d be an even better player than he his right now.
But let’s stick to the facts playboy! With no help Russ is doin’ everything on the floor. With no help all Mike ever did was shoot the ball!! So how is he the GOAT if without the help he needed to just get out of the first round of the playoffs all he ever did was gun and score points. It’s easy to win when you’ve got an ENTIRE army around you and all you have to do is shoot.
I’ll take Young Russ with no help before I’ll take Jordan with no help! Why? Because Westbrook will at least give you a complete game. He gives you points, rebounds and assists! He’s not just a dun gunnin’ every time down the floor. And for all of you geniuses that were told that the only thing that counts is championships then stop bringin’ Mike’s name up because he’s buried in the list. Stop me when I start lyin’!
1) Spit: verb – to say
2) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.
3) Put it where the goats can get it: verb phrase – to make it as elementary as possible. To put it at ground level so everyone can understand it.
