Indiana has been on the struggle bus when it comes down to getting a win in the NCAA. However, the worse part about it is that they’ve been on a four game losing streak and all have been conference opponents. In week 11 Indiana took on the Maryland Terrapins. The Hoosiers were at home with a 4-5 record as the Maryland Terrapins came into Memorial Stadium with a 5-4 record but only one team fought on both sides of the ball in today’s match up. That team was  the Indiana University Hoosiers winning 34-32.

The Hoosiers made an exceptional effort on both sides of the ball today and that allowed them to have a very short time of possession of only 20:42 vs Maryland’s 39:18. The Terrapins got off to a great start in terms of moving the ball down the field but couldn’t seem to finish drives but led Indiana 6-0 after the first quarter. As time went on the Hoosiers put up 21 points to Maryland’s 15 at the half thanks to their stout defense that eventually forced 3 fumbles during the game.

With a very poised offense lead by QB Peyton Ramsey the Hoosiers only gave up 39 yards on 3rd penalties while being ranked 82nd in penalties in the nation. Peyton and the Hoosiers totaled 374 yards of offense, 243 passing yards, and 131 rushing yards. Stevie Scott led the backfield with 105 rushing yards. Maryland’s offense totaled 542 yards on offense that was initially led by the Terrapins’ QB Kasim Hill but was eventually replaced by Tyrrell Pigrome who threw for 146 yards but was outshined by their RB Anthony McFarland. McFarland rushed for 205 yards on 29 attempts and was an absolute beast in the open field. This man couldn’t help but become the focal point of this offense in their matchup against the Hoosiers.

Following this matchup, the Terrapins have to face the Ohio State Buckeyes at home while the Indiana Hoosiers travel to face the No.4 Michigan Wolverines. Both teams are struggling in the Big Ten and look to upset two of the nation’s best teams but I can tell you right now, that won’t happen. That’s the bottom line here folks. Neither team has the ability to make it far as the season comes to an end and that’s the sad reality.
