How the College GameDay Crew influences the Playoff Rankings negatively! “Waaaait For It!”

On Tuesday the first College Football Playoff rankings come out and you already know that it’s going to be some foolishness. Why? Because everybody and their baby’s momma with a microphone, television camera and a podcast cares nothing about the games being played. They’re using the silly logic that the duns on College GameDay use and especially the logic of Kirk Herbstreit. He says this all of the time and nobody bats an eye, “It’s not about the four teams that deserve to be in the playoff. It’s about picking the four best teams.” WHAT!!!?

If we aren’t picking the four teams that DESERVE to play for a national title then what are we doing? Sure, I know that the College GameDay crew isn’t on the committee to pick and choose who plays but their influence is all over this thing.  Half the people on that committee aren’t even football people and many of them work for Power 5 schools so guess what playa? There going to be biased in who they vote for anyway.

To get on national television and constantly say that it’s not about who deserves to play for a title is crazy. If that’s the case then why are we playing the darn games. If wins and losses and strength of schedule don’t count then what’s the point in playing the games?

Everybody and their Uncle Jun-Bug has Alabama ranked No.1 without even questioning it. Now I’m not saying that Bama isn’t probably the best team walking but we have no way of knowing at this point because they’ve played NOBODY and we’ve just completed Week 9. They’ve played NOBODY for 8 straight games.

They were taking a smoke break on Saturday so they were off but they don’t play their first real game until next week when they finally run up on LSU at Death Valley. So to have them ranked No.1 up to this point after beating up 8 cupcakes is ridiculous. I’m going to stay on my soap box until they lose but Notre Dame should be ranked No.1 at this point in the season based on resume alone and I can’t stand Notre Dame.

However, they’re schedule is loaded with Power 5 opponents where they are playing true home and away games. They even played Navy in San Diego on Saturday. Now Navy isn’t worth two dead flies smashed this year but to play them in San Diego and maul them 44-22 was huge. Why? Because San Diego has the largest contingent of Navy enlisted troops in the world. So the joint was packed with Navy fans. That’s an example of a true road game that Bama won’t play in their non-conference schedule.

Every non-conference game on their schedule is Boo-Boo State at home and then they’ll travel to Atlanta or Dallas and play a neutral site game but that’s as close as they’ll get to playing somebody. Playing the the SEC West is Cupcake City with the exception of LSU and Auburn. Everybody else on that side of the fence is a cake walk; Arkansas, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Miss State. Please!!!

Is Bama a great team? Sure they are! Do they deserve to be ranked No.1? Not at all because they haven’t played anybody yet. Therefore, Notre Dame should be ranked ahead of Bama in this first College Football playoff ranking simply because of strength of schedule.

Do you realize that Bama conveniently took a smoke break last week right before they play their first real game against LSU. Then the week before they play their biggest rival, Auburn, they play The Citadel. That’s the ultimate smoke break while everybody else in America will be playing for their playoff lives that week. That’s the foolishness that I’m talking about bruh. The games have to count for something and if they don’t, just chose the top 4 teams in spring ball and stop wasting everybody’s time.

When they took away the BCS computer rankings of strength of schedule and margin of victory out and added the human element it went to the dogs. At least the computer wasn’t biased. It spit out what you asked for. There are 130 teams in Division 1 college football so it’s never going to be fair because there are several different levels of play in this division. But to tell me that Bama is No.1 because they’re undefeated against a Boo-Boo schedule is crazy. You already know that it’s about to go down. So in my Huggy LowDown voice, “Waaaait For It!” Stop me when I start lyin’!

  1. It’s ridiculous to criticize Alabama being number one. Step on you’re brake. We all remember the last time Fighting Irish fans made this bold claim,it wasn’t even a game!
