How Kristof Kendrick has Howe purrin’ like a kitten at the right time! “On and Poppin’!”

First year head coach Kristof Kendrick has Howe ballin' right now! Photo: TheJayGravesReport

Ricky Bobby once said, “If you ain’t first, you’re last.” Well playas…I want to give a crazy shout out to the Young Thunder Cats over at T.C. Howe that didn’t finish first in the City Tournament but they are far from bein’ last playboy. They loss to a great Cathedral team on Monday night in a 88-86 double overtime thriller that kept me up all night.

However, I’ve got to pump the brakes on movin’ on because this team plays with the heart of lions!!! I’ve seen them play several times this year and they’ve got the passion of Kevin Garnett for four quarters and beyond if necessary. We saw that last night.

Tony Hopkins

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! It doesn’t get any more clutch than Kycia Washington. That dun can go!!! Talk about bein’ able to take a boy to the rack or stop on a dime and pull up the three? He’s got it all in his holster.  It’s NUTS!!! Then there’s the lil’/big homie Jefty Sultzer that can push the rock if need be, shoot that joint from anywhere and plays some sick defense.

There’s this cat named Tony Hopkins that’s the Alpha Male of the group. He’s like the secret weapon. When he walks onto the floor his presence just takes over. He’s what I like to call the enforcer. He’s bangin’ with boyz, defendin’ like his life depends on it and his swag is off the charts. Tony Hopkins is my guy!!!

Boyz are scratchin’ their heads like, where did Howe come from all of a sudden? Well playas…it’s a dun named Kristof Kendrick at the helm doin’ work in his first year as the head coach. He’s got these boyz hustlin’ and playin’ with a fire that very few high school teams play with.

The only other teams I’ve seen all year that matches their intensity is Cathedral and Warren Central. Now Warren can go bruh. Their guard play is NUTS as I mentioned in the crazy Hot Joint entitled “East Side Swag” I wrote last week. But let’s stay on Howe because there’s somethin’ about them that I really like.

They play with so much emotion but they’re extremely disciplined. It’s crazy that they’re able to play within’ the boundaries of the game with the amount of emotion that they play with. Hats off to Coach Kendrick for that.

As they continue to get better as the season progresses they’re about to give these Class 2A boyz some real problems. I can’t wait until the tournament starts late next month because it’s about to be Chris Brown up in this piece. “On and Poppin’!” Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

3) On and Poppin’: noun – song by Chris Brown

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
