Hammond shows up to the Extravaganza and does work on Tindley! “Finished”

INDIANAPOLIS — Day two of the Manual Extravaganza kicked off with Indianapolis Tindley and Hammond High tipping it off at 9:30 Saturday morning! By the time boyz got the sleep out of their eyes they were runnin’ and gunnin’ and Hammond got out of the joint with a 58-44 win.

Hammond went on an 8-2 run to open the game with Reggie Abrams pushing the rock. Turnovers early caused Tindley problems as they gave up transition buckets easily. The Tigers finally settled down to slow the Hammond early push. At the end of the first quarter Hammond up was 15-7

Tindley started the second period on a 5-3 run however, the Wildcats from Hammond continued to get easy looks at the basket to extend their lead to 22-12. Hammond’s Harold Woods did work in the paint as he crashed the boards getting easy put backs. The from the region got to the break up 28-20.
Both teams traded baskets throughout the third quarter as the overall energy of the game increased. Tindley did work to outscore Hammond 12-8 in that quarter.
The momentum seemed to be getting in the car with Tindley until Hammond finally woke up down the stretch as they extended their lead to 50-38 with 4 minutes remaining. Hammond kept Tindley at bay the rest of the way as Amiri Young led all scorers with 18 points winning MVP{ honors for the game. Harold Woods did work finishing with 12 points for Hammond.
