Getting back to the business of caring about and doing for America! “A Welcomed Inauguration Day”

Inauguration Day signifies the beginning of a new administration and a new America. An America that many of us have yearned to see for the past four years. For most of Americans this has very little to do with politics and everything to do with human decency and presidential decorum. It has everything to do with people loving each other and caring about what happens to our American brothers and sisters. Of course, it hasn’t been where it should have been for more than 401 years for black folks in America but we would like to see our leaders at least try to act like they care about us right?

For the past four years we’ve had leadership that hasn’t cared about those principles. It was so refreshing to see our president-elect and vice-president-elect acknowledge the 400K lives lost to the COVID-19 pandemic on Tuesday evening just hours before being sworn in to their respective offices.

It’s a blessing for us to see the office of the President of the United States be once again filled by someone that will be about the business of the people and not about the business of themselves. To be a public servant is to care about the people that elected you to that office. I’m thankful for all of the people that participated in the democratic process that used their vote to change America. We all look forward to the day where the business of serving the people is of the utmost importance. Today is that day. May God Bless America!
