BERKELEY, CA. — Within two weeks of graduatin’ high school former Ben Davis standout running back, Johnny Adams, is already on campus in the Pac12 at the University of California preparin’ for his freshman season. After helpin’ BD win the Class 6A State Title convincinly by goin’ 14-0 and straight blastin” Penn in the title game 63-14 it’s time for the next phase.

Adams is at one of the most prestigious schools in America as a result of all of his hard work payin’ off. Graduatin’ with a 3.8 GPA and 1,822 rushin’ yards on 220 career carries with 20 catches for 273 yards and five touchdowns ole boy is ready for the next to do even bigger things.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! I’m highlightin’ these former Indianapolis area kids on their journeys away from Naptown because I want all of the kids that are still comin’ up to see that they too can make it to the next level. Johnny Adams (Cal), Cam McGrone (Michigan), Reese Taylor (Indiana), DJ Johnson (Iowa) and many more of our kids are provin’ to the rest of the Indianapolis Young Thunder Cats that it’s possible to play big time college football.

However, you’ve got to be willin’ to put the work in and make the necessary sacrifices. Adams didn’t get all the way out to California because he had good DNA. He had to take the talent that God blessed him with and grind!! He had to go to class, make the grades, listen to folks that knew more than he did and remain focused.

Playin’ major college football ain’t no joke bruh!! It’s real and it’s not for everybody. If you aren’t disciplined and willin’ to put in the work you won’t make it. The MOST important asset you can ever have in life is work ethic.

So if you ever hear a coach, teacher or even your parents tell you that you’re lazy and don’t work hard enough. You’d better change your mindset right, then and there. Work ethic is like pure gold. Salute to Johnny for doin’ the darn thing.

Look for more updates on our Indianapolis kids that are away at school makin’ us proud. Stop me when I start lyin’!

Playas Thesaurus:

1) Dun: noun – the person in question, dude, guy, etc. It’s whoever I’m talkin’ about and its non-gender specific.

2) Ole boy: noun – the person that I’m currently talkin’ about.

The G is excluded from the endings of all words because the G is near and dear to my heart because I’m from “The G” which is Gary, Indiana. So I only use the G when I’m talkin’ about “The G!”
