Florida LB talked a $100 worth of noise when he thought his homeboys had it back! OU blasts them 55-20! “Abandonment Issues”

DALLAS — After the Oklahoma Sooners literally sprinted through the Florida Gators like wet toilet paper on Wednesday night in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl. We all knew that the excuses were going to pour out of the Florida faithful before we could get out of the parking lot.

Dan Mullen wasted no time telling boyz that this wasn’t the 2020 Florida football team and that the real team played its last game in the SEC championship game which they lost as well. As a matter of fact, they lost their final three games for the record.

They had 60 scholarship players but the minimum threshold was 53. So they had enough to play. Here’s what ole boy had to say during the post-game.

“With the number of people that were out for the game, we were under numbers actually. We had the numbers to not play the game.

He went on to say, “I give our guys credit. … Our young guys wanted to go play in that game, and they wanted to get that experience and wanted to be on that stage.”

If they showed up with Florida uniforms and with Florida coaches they were Florida. Don’t start making excuses now. Would Mullen be sitting there making excuses had they won the game? No!!!

He then said this foolishness. “I kind of viewed — I don’t know, maybe this is wrong — that wasn’t the 2020 football team that you saw. There were 25 guys missing off the 2020 football team out there tonight. That was kind of a kick-start for us for the future, an opportunity for the young guys to play.”

Was that OU’s fault? Again, would he had been making those excuses if they had won the game? This is the foolishness that I’m talking about. Take the “L” and keep it moving.

Sure, they were without all of their top wide receivers (Kadarius Toney, Trevon Grimes and Jacob Copeland) and their starting tight end (Kyle Pitts). They all opted out to prepare for the NFL Draft. However, none of those players I just mentioned played defense.

The Sooners rushed for 406 yards on them. Kyle Trask threw three interceptions in the first quarter and two of those weren’t because he had timing issues with the new receivers. He simply made terrible judgements in throwing the football into spaces he had no business throwing them into. Stop with this foolishness.

Football is a game of attrition and at any given time you’ll have players out. Not 25 but they opted to play the game and the chips fell where they fell. They got the breaks beaten off of them and that was that. Don’t make excuses now. Just get up and move into 2021.

Oklahoma was the better team on Wednesday night and that was that. It doesn’t matter who was out. And most importantly, OU saw the comments Florida linebacker James Houston made last week on Twitter. Ole boy had the nerve to tweet out referring to Oklahoma as “a good matchup” but “not on our level.”

Well playa…that did it. You can’t talk trash when you don’t know if your homeboys are going to abandon you or not. Now you’re out there butt naked getting the breaks beaten off of you and your homeboys are simply standing around there watching. Next time close your mouth unless you know for sure that you’ve got some riders that are willing to pull up with you. Nor some guys that are only thinking of themselves in the moment. Now I’m not mad at them but it is what it is. Stop me when I start lyin’!
