Eric Reid calls the NFL out on its hypocrisy for using Kaepernick in its social justice video Week 1.

Eric Reid and Colin Kaepernick kneel during national anthem when they both were teammates on the 49ers.

After the murder of George Floyd was caught on camera. Everybody and their cousin Bubba wants to “look” like they’re down for the cause of eradicating police brutality, racism and social injustice, including the NFL. The very same organization that has blackballed Colin Kaepernick since 2016 is now using him in their social justice video.

Both he and then teammate Eric Reid kneeled during the national anthem when they were playing for the 49ers. Kaepernick hasn’t been on an NFL roster since 2016 and Reid was cut from the Carolina Panthersback in March after balled out and set career bests with 130 tackles (97 solo) and four sacks during the 2019 season.

Now that everybody is fronting like they want to end racism the NFL used both Reid and Kaepernick in a social justice video that played before all of its Week 1 games. The video featured the Black National Anthem, “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing,” which was performed by Alicia Keys.

Reid was not happy about his friend being used in the video and tweeted his displeasure on Monday.

Yeah, what he said. Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! The NFL can’t use players that have been blackballed out of the league in a PR video that promotes the very thing they were shunned for. Roger Goodell is running around issuing apologies to the black community about how the NFL was wrong but hasn’t said a word to Kaepernick. That’s ridiculous. Either the NFL was wrong or they weren’t? They can’t admit to being wrong and not apologize to the very person that they mistreated.

However, they’re simply doing what is popular in this business cycle right now. You can’t be the organization that’s on the wrong side of what’s popular at this point. It’s not cool to say that someone is disrespecting the flag by kneeling today. It was okay 6 months ago though. Funny how that works but most people still feel the same way. They just can’t say it.

I applaud Eric Reid for calling the NFL out on its hypocrisy. Stop me when I start lyin’!
