DeShaun Watson needs to close his mouth and go to work! He signed the contract! “Real Life”

On Thursday everybody and their sister’s husband’s nephew reported that Deshaun Watson had requested a trade. On Friday the Houston Texans introduced their new head coach, David Culley, and the first thing he addressed was the rumors surrounding his quarterback.

When asked about his knowledge of Watson’s status with the team he didn’t flinch.

“He’s the quarterback of the Houston Texans, and that’s all that I was concerned about. That’s all I knew and whatever was being said about what he wanted to do or didn’t want to do. All I know is this…he is a Houston Texan. And I wanted to be a Houston Texan. And the reason I’m in this position today is because I knew he’s going to be a Houston Texan. The outside stuff that was being said is irrelevant to me.”

I guess that answers that!!! Ole boy didn’t hesitate to say that Deshaun Watson in his Puffy Daddy voice “Ain’t Go-in No-where!” At least not while he’s trying to get started with the Texans because he only took the job because he knew he had a solid quarterback.

It doesn’t matter what Watson wants at this point because he just signed a 4-year deal worth $156 million. If he wants his checks he’ll show up to work. It’s not like he only has one year left on the deal and if they keep him he could walk without them getting anything for him.

He’s under contract through 2025 and has a no trade clause in the deal. Therefore, they could choose to franchise tag him for and additional three years. That means that they’ve got him if they want him through 2028.

Ole boy better wake up, stop whining and take his butt to work. I can hear Big Momma in the background now saying, “Baby…don’t mess up that good job. People go to work everyday to places they hate for much less. You better take yo butt to work and close yo mouth.”

Could the Texans have handled the transition better? Sure, they could have. Could they have consulted with Watson on front office changes? Absolutely!! However, he’s still an employee and the owner still owns the team. Therefore, He needs to man up and take his butt to work. It’s called real life. Stop me when I start lyin’!
