Delusional IU fans hating on Keion Brooks Jr. for choosing Kentucky! “This Ain’t Nothing New”

FORT WAYNE — By now everybody and their Uncle LeRoy has heard that Five-Star recruit Keion Brooks Jr. has decided to attend the University of Kentucky to play his college ball. On Friday evening he made the announcement in his hometown of Fort Wayne in front of a packed house of family and friends.

Going to Kentucky was an excellent choice because it’s an elite program. What’s the point in being an elite basketball player putting in all of that work and accomplishing all that he’s accomplished to settle for anything less? Brooks Jr. is one of the best players in America. He’s supposed to be at a place like Kentucky.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! I’m hearing all of these IU fans around the state hating on him because he decided not to play in Bloomington. Why on God’s green earth would he choose to play at a program that plays with absolutely NO heart at all? IU’s not an elite program. It used to be 30 years ago.

I’m an IU Alum bruh and I wouldn’t encourage my child to go to IU if he were as good as Keion Brooks Jr. He’s got to play where they can prepare him to go to the next level. John Calipari and Co. have proven that they know what they’re doing in that regard. This kid is a potential pro!! He’s been a pro since he stepped into high school. How do I know that? Because I’ve been covering the NBA for the past 9 seasons.

When you’ve been around as many professional athletes as I have you can spot one getting out of a car down the street at midnight with a hoodie on. It’s called DNA and this kid has it. So deciding to go to a school like Kentucky puts him one step closer to achieving the ultimate goal of playing in the NBA.

Just like when he had to leave North Side to play with better players at La Lumiere Prep School to help him improve his game. He’s going to do the same thing by going to play at Kentucky. He joins 5-star recruits Tyrese Maxey, Kahlil Whitney and 4-star recruit Dontaie Allen to give Kentucky the No.2 ranked recruiting class in America. What better way to get better than by playing with better competition every day?

So IU fans can literally kick rocks and keep on hating. If your team played with some heart and stopped losing games you shouldn’t lose then and only then will cats like Keion Brooks Jr. and others start coming to Bloomington.

This ain’t nothing new. Most of the best players to ever come out of the state of Indiana didn’t go to IU to find their NBA dreams. We can start with the Big O going to Cincinnati!!! Then it really went crazy when Rick Fox (UNC), Glenn Robinson (Purdue, POY), all three of the Plumlee brothers, Mason, Miles and Marshall (Duke), they missed on two of the Zeller brothers, Tyler and Luke (UNC and ND), Rodney Carney (Memphis), Josh McRoberts (Duke), Zach Randolph (Michigan State), Greg Oden (OSU), Mike Conley (OSU), George Hill (IUPUI), Shawn Kemp (UK, JUCO), Sean May (UNC), Jeff and Marquis Teague (Wake Forest and UK) Courtney Lee (Western Kentucky), Eric Montross (UNC), Luke Harongody (ND), Robbie Hummel, E’Twan Moore and JaJuan Johnson (Purdue), Gordon Hayward (Butler), Gary Harris (Michigan State) Glenn Robinson III (Michigan), Mitch McGary (Michigan) and Trey Lyles (Kentucky), Caleb Swanigan (Purdue) and RJ Hunter (Georgia State) went elsewhere.

I could be missing some cats but these were right off of the top of my head. My point is this, Keion Brooks Jr. is doing what makes sense. Go where you need to go to get better so you can get to the league. The only people that are delusional here are the IU fans that are hating on this kid for making the best decision he could have possibly made for himself. Stop me when I start lyin’!
