INDIANAPOLIS — On Thursday USA TODAY announced it’s 2018 ALL-USA INDIANA Football Team and guess who was the Player of the Year? David Bell!! The same cat that didn’t win Mr. Football. Ain’t that a blip? How in the world do you win the Gatorade Player of the Year and win the ALL-USA INDIANA Player of the Year without winning Mr. Football? I’m listening…

Yes, I know that I’m beating a dead horse but I’m trying to make a point here folks. It’s a darn shame for the best player in the state to not be recognized by his own state for being the best player in the darn state. However, All of the national folks are looking at this foolishness and laughing at us because we’ve got to be blind or don’t know football.

David Bell is by far the best player in Indiana and one of the best in these United States of America and because of a system that allows for foolishness to take place he wins every other Player of the Year Award but the Mr. Football Award. It’s absolutely insane.

Bell played at absolutely the highest level of football in Class 6A in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference which is the very best conference in the state. Not only did he compete there but he and his teammates dominated going 14-0 and winning the state title going away.

Ole boy finished with 84 catches for 1,507 yards and 22 touchdowns playing the very best competition in the state and that didn’t count for nothing in the Mr. Football voting? It’s absolutely crazy!!!

Bell is the only player in the state that will be playing in the Army All-American game next month where he will be announcing his college commitment. I can’t wait to see where this kid will be going to college next year. His top five schools are as follows in no particular order; Purdue, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio State and Penn State.
