Carsen Edwards should have taken the shot!! No ifs, ands or buts! “Dance With Your Date”

LOUISVILLE — I can’t get out of here without writing this joint!!! Yes, congratulations to the Purdue Boilermakers for getting to the Elite Eight and taking the No.1 seed Virginia Cavaliers to the brink. They had these duns on the ropes bleeding from the mouth with only one player!!

Carsen Edwards led ALL scorers with 42 points!!! He was 14 of 25 from the field and 10 of 19 from three point range. That means that the dun was shooting the freakin’ lights out of the gym!! There wasn’t another player with a Purdue uniform on with more than 7 points.

So lets fast forward to overtime with 5 seconds left on the clock and the Boilermakers needing a bucket  tie it with a three down 78-75. Matt Painter calls a timeout and draws up something. Everybody and their baby’s momma knows that Carsen Edwards is taking the freakin’ shot. Steve Wonder and Helen Keller both can see that. He’s been carrying the team on his back all night. So why would anybody else even be looking for a basketball to come their way?

So why on earth would you come out of a timeout, give the ball to Edwards and have him looking to pass it to any other human being on planet earth? If you’re going to lose that game you’ve got to lose it with the dun that got you there Matt Painter. That’s called overthinking this foolishness. Ole boy’s got 42 points!!!

We’ve all heard the old colloquialism, “You gotta dance with the the one you came with!” You can’t, at the end of the dance, try to switch partners bruh!! Ain’t gone work!!! It NEVER works!!!

I’ve got no problem with Purdue losing that game but to lose it without Carsen Edwards taking the last shot is a travesty.  If he takes the three and misses you get into the car and drive home with your head held high. But when the dun that has 42 points doesn’t take the last shot it’s straight up foolishness! Stop me when I start lyin’!
