HARTFORD — The No,3 seeded Purdue Boilermakers jumped out of the ride in the middle of the street and went to work on the defending national champs. No.6 seeded Villanova Wildcats were on a quest to win their third national title in four years when this tournament started. However, the kids from West Lafayette let the beast loose as they blasted the Wildcats 87-61.

Carsen Edwards, who’d been in a shooting slump for the past 11 games games shooting on 32 percent from the field exploded for a career high 42 points. Ole boy was shooting from everywhere in the arena bruh. It’s was NUTS!!!

Once he got going it was Chris Brown up in that piece, “On and Poppin’!” Matt Harms finished with almost double-double with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Ryan Cline dropped off 12 for good measure.

The Boilermakers as a team shot 54 percent from both the field and from behind the arc. That’s crazy!!! Now they advance to the Sweet Sixteen for the third consecutive year. Matt Painter’s doing a helluva job up in West Lafayette.
