Everybody and their sister’s nephew’s homeboy from down the street was on the edge of their seats to see the Lamar Jackson vs Josh Allen showdown. Last year’s MVP and this year’s MVP candidate were meeting in Buffalo to see who would advance to the AFC Championship game.

When the smoke cleared the Bills were walking out of the joint with a 17-3 win and more confidence than they had when they pulled up. The normally offensively-led Bills were this time led by their defense. Up 10-3 with 41 seconds left in the third quarter with the Ravens knocking on Big Momma’s front door. Buffalo’s Taron Johnson picked Lamar Jackson one yard deep in the end zone and took it to the house securing the victory. Ole boy went 101 yards for the touchdown in case you couldn’t do the math playa.

Jackson exited the game just two plays later with a concussion. The Bills defense brought their lunch pails to work on Saturday and ate everything Big Momma packed. They held the NFL’s top rushing attack to 150 yards on 32 carries.

Jackson was sacked three times and suffered a concussion on the final play of the third quarter. He finished 14 of 24 for 162 yards passing and was limited to 42 yards rushing on nine carries. Yes sir, the Bills defense showed up hungry.

Josh Allen had this to say about his defense. “I can’t say enough words for what that game was for our defense. Taron Johnson’s is a play that people are going to remember for a long time here in Buffalo, potentially a franchise-altering play.”

Allen finished going 23 of 37 for 206 yards and a touchdown but it was his defense that was the difference maker on Saturday. They will advance to the AFC Championship game for the first time in 27 years. They advanced, made and loss four straight Super Bowls on that run.

The Bills will face the winner of the Browns and Chiefs in the AFC Title game next week.
