Big Ten Tournament Update: Michigan advances after beating Nebraska 81-75!

Michigan gets by Nebraska in the Big Ten Tournament!

INDIANAPOLIS — No.7 seeded Michigan beat 10th seeded Nebraska 81-75 in game four of the Big Ten Women’s tournament Thursday evening.

Michigan went on an 8-3 run making their first three baskets to start the game.  Nebraska forced seven turnovers on an 8-0 run to take the lead. The lady Huskers made 7 of 8 free throws in the first with the lead 20-13. 

The Huskers pushed the lead to as many as 14 in the second quarter. Nebraska shot 52 percent from the field and hit 3 of 5 from three point range. Michigan went into the half with a 42-34 deficit.

The Wolverines outscored Nebraska in the third period 24-10, led by Indiana native Amy Dilk with 7 points and 3 assists. Michigan shot 45 percent from the floor and also out rebounded Nebraska 18-6. The Wolverines took the lead at the six-minute mark and never looked back. 

Michigan was tested at the free throw line in the fourth period and withheld the heat, as they made 8-12. Naz Hilmon lead the way for the Wolverines with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, teammate Amy Dilk added 22 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists. 

Leigha Brown led Nebraska with 22 points and 6 assists.
