Big Baller Brand is trying to hustle $3,500 out of media to film 5 minutes of LaMelo!! “Straight Foolishness”

LaMelo Ball is now playing at Spire Academy in Ohio and boyz want $3,500 from media to film 5 minutes of video on him. NUTS!! Photo: Getty Images

When you thought LaVar Ball had disappeared and learned how to behave he’s at it again. His son LaMelo is playing at a prep school in Ohio by the name of Spire. They’re playing in a tournament in Kentucky on Saturday and earlier this week the dun had the school issue an email that will blow your freakin’ mind!!!

It’s telling, NOT asking, media outlets that they have to pay $3,500 at the door in order to film highlights of the two Spire games this weekend. I’ve attached the letter from my man Adam Zagoria’s Twitter account that works the New York Times just so you don’t think I’m making this foolishness up.

The Big Baller Brand is putting the rule in place bruh. Not only can’t you film for free but you’re only limited to a 5 minute clip of this foolishness. However, what blows my mind is the amount of cats that are in the car with LaVar’s thinking on this foolishness.

Let’s keep it real or all the way 100, whichever comes 1st! There is a reason that we have media. We are the liaison between you and the event. We get the information that you either want or need when you can’t be there. It’s the reason why you know 99.9999 percent of whatever you know about anything. Why? Because you can’t be at every event that takes place in the world. You wouldn’t know what or who any of these basketball, football, baseball players, politicians or celebrities were if it were not for the media. We serve a purpose. We bring eye balls to whatever you’re doing good or bad.

You wouldn’t know what’s going on in the world in general if it were not for the media. Nobody is charging the media to show up and cover an event. You earn media credentials by building a brand and a platform with an audience that the event wants to target. Therefore, by having a credential you’re able to get the information taking place at the event out to the masses.

Nobody in their right mind is going to give Spire/Big Baller Brand/ LaVar Ball $3,500 to see a darn high school player play. I cover the NBA and I’m not paying for a freakin’ credential and they are the best players in THEE WORLD.

This makes as much sense as taking LiAngelo out of UCLA because he didn’t want him to be suspended for stealing. As much sense as it did for taking LaMelo out of high school and sending he and LiAngelo to Lithuiania to play with grown men only to come right back. It makes as much sense as walking away from Nike, Adidas and Reebok on a shoe deal when they’ve got all of the shoe juice to try to sell his own BBB shoe with no capital relatively speaking. How many of you duns have gotten those BBB shoes yet? That’s what I thought.

This is another example of a stark raving maniac pulling a another stunt that makes no sense. Only a fool would give them $3,500 to film a high school game or any game for that matter. And guess what playa? He ain’t LeBron, Kobe, Ben Wilson or Zion Williamson in high school!!!

The only reason America knew who Zion was while in high school was because of the highlights we saw of him dunking all over everybody. Nobody paid to film him. He came into Duke with all of the hype because EVERYBODY ALREADY knew who it was and what he could do. Sure, he was going to be who he is today without the highlights because he can play but the hype was built off of the highlights that were filmed for free.

And I hear the clown in the back ground saying, “Everybody else is making money off of him why can’t he make money off of himself.” Because as a high school or college player he can’t. I didn’t make the rules bruh! Yes, he should be able to but he can’t because he’d be ruled ineligible because he wouldn’t be an amateur athlete anymore. He’d be a professional.

So therefore, he’s got to suck it up for one year and then get paid or be discreet on how he makes his side bread. What you can’t do is send a letter to media outlets telling boyz that you want $3,500 for your side hustle. That makes no sense at all! You’re hustlin’ backwards.  Stop when I start lyin’!
